Iâve literally been involved with Rockfish since its construction, so I admit to being biased. Even still, I can truthfully say this place is fantastic and you should definitely go if you like doing things like breathing or achieving goals or meeting friendly people.
I found Rockfish to be one of the most spacious gyms Iâve been toâboth climbing gyms and weight-based gyms included. Itâs great to have room for bodyweight exercises in the weight room side, and itâs awesome to have room to stretch and watch someone project on the climbing side. The walls there are very grippy, with unique problems set up by rad local setters. The mats are way cush, and the gym has all sorts of fantastic equipment for helping you get to that next grade.
The staff always treat me like family, which is awesome. Iâm so used to feeling like a stranger everywhere I go and it's really nice to feel welcome when I can stop in. I donât think you have to go out of your way to be treated well there (...contrary to some of the trendier, elitist places...), just show up and be a kind, considerate person, really. (And donât wear your climbing shoes to the bathroom, âcuz thatâs gonna backfire.đ¤˘)
The music the staff there pick out is fantastic. I used to forget my headphones when I stopped in, then I just started ditching them, instead. I like to think it made me a better climberđ
I think it might be good to hang onto a physical punch card if youâre going to go the punch card route, but their monthly memberships are super reasonable, considering all that comes with it. The hours for the climbing side used to be kinda confusing, but I think they ironed that all out since then.
Try some unique rental shoes, get some sweet gear while youâre there and have a fantastic time, I promise none of thatâs hard to do. Rockfish definitely brings a ton of value to the community and I very much recommend you...
Read moreRockfish is an amazing little bouldering gym with an absolutely fantastic staff. This gym would not be what it is without the dedicated staff going above and beyond to create a welcoming, fun and supportive environment for all levels of climbers. Their dedication and passion for climbing is evident in the countless hours spent implementing and running programs and events, setting routes and all the unseen effort that creates the overall good vibe this place has. Routes are consistently updated to keep things fresh and new, (the setters are incredibly creative and talented!) Itâs an easy place to meet people whether youâre new to climbing, new to the area or just want to climb and be inspired! There is something for everyone at Rockfish! Thank you everyone at Rockfish for all that you do to keep this place a positive and essential part of...
Read moreRockfish is such a quintessential part of our climbing community. Climbers of all ages and backgrounds come together here, creating a friendly and inclusive atmosphere. Whether you're climbing solo or with friends, you're likely to make some new climbing buddies. All credit for this awesome atmosphere goes to the manager, Ryan, and Michelle. Their dedication to Rockfish is so appreciated and is the reason we all love climbing and socializing there. I've traveled around and spent time at other gyms around the country. When I come back to Rockfish I know routes are going to be fun and thought provoking. It's obvious that a lot of time and experience goes into setting the routes here. I mean even Alex and Tommy had a blast...
