This place is OK, but needs improvement. I have come to expect certain standards from this brand, and only have other identical branded properties to compare with. There are two things that don’t meet standards here. First, the business center has a printer in it; no computer, just a printer. And, next, the shower looked like a factory farm for mold and bacteria; it hasn’t been scrubbed with bleach or scouring powder since the end of the civil war, and it’s visually obvious.||Upon checking in, the place looks nice, and the desk agent quite accommodating. The common areas looked very good, and all furniture and fixtures in adequate repair. The parking situation is confusing in that there are 3 Hilton brands on this slice of dirt, but they don’t share parking spaces in the front. From what I can tell behind the buildings they don’t care. The signage in the front of these building(s) is clear as mud.||Back to the shower….this was pretty bad. The drip rail on the door was covered with grotesque stuff I won’t tolerate in my own home. It badly needs to be cleaned with a brush. But, looking around me there’s black mold in the grout up and down the walls. Add to that they have used a white, acrylic floor which makes sure the guest can see the floor has a ring of brown scum around the edge, again, that has not been scrubbed, or sanitized in many guests.||I am the hater of having to baby-sit expensive electronics, and those in-room safes many Hilton properties are installing aren’t available here. I did bring a laptop, but when I find only a printer in the business center, I’d like to know what kind of business can be supported without a work station. I treasure those few trips these days where I can leave the computer at home, and this place would be a deal-breaker if I didn’t have my machine. They have a nice place to work offering one each Brother printer and one each some kind of animal’s head hanging on the wall, and a caricature map of the state.||When I asked why they don’t have a business center, the answer was less than acceptable. Christmas of 2022 this state got a blast of cold air much lower than we are accustomed to, and water pipes burst everywhere, including my home. Water leaked into the computer and ruined it. So, they just discontinued the computer and left the printer for TWO FULL YEARS! A desktop computer is NOT VERY EXPENSIVE, and should be replaced from the same budget that had to fix the ruined ceilings. All they have done until this point is absolutely nothing. This is the most expensive property in this city, and all of it’s functions should be working. ||The kitchenette area is a curious thing in wondering what can I cook with what’s here? I get one skillet, two sauce pans, a two-burner electric range top, a microwave oven, a two-slice toaster, full-size dishwasher, with half-size sink, and a food waste disposer. I finally found some paper towels under the skink, but no spray cleaner or dishwashing liquid with which to clean up after myself. In only trying to re-heat yesterday’s sandwich I found it almost impossible to get that done neatly. And it’s a common theme with this brand to never offer a trash receptacle big enough for a kitchen, or to cook, or to hold more than 2 napkins.||I’m no chef, but my point here is nobody is going to be able to prepare much of a meal with what’s here, and to be successful will require bringing several things from your home. I have great sympathy for housekeeping coming in behind someone who has used this for a kitchen, because they don’t have any choice but leave a big mess for someone else to clean up. There’s no dishwashing liquid, dish brush, or anything kitchens need to clean up one’s own mess. Most people who can afford this brand were taught as babies to clean up after oneself, and don’t leave a big mess someone else has to clean up! I WOULD LOVE TO IF I ONLY HAD THE TOOLS!||The staff at this place were more than caring and accommodating and helpful with things that innkeepers are not typically responsible for. The place is clean, inside and out, with the exception of that shower, and the building engineers have not let the place erode. I got a chuckle out of their "lake view" rooms, as the body of water they are talking about is a stock pond, rather than a lake. There's nothing picturesque around here to offer, thus that's about the closest to a lake anyone is going to get in this parched state.||There is a LOT of retail very close, and one each dead mall right in the middle of it. Still, anything the guest may need to purchase will be easy to locate. The dining in the vicinity is plentiful and diverse, and their own free breakfast abundant, and appealing. It's the first time I've seen two different levels of Hilton hospitality in one building (next door.)||This place is not bad by any stretch of the imagination. What I've said here is intended to be constructive, and it would not prevent me from staying here or...
Read moreI've checked into many of these all suite properties with a two-burner range top and a microwave oven, and have never used any of it. I try to visualize a family with 4 children coming in an making home made fried chicken with no range hood and I can't wrap my mind around it. I can't imagine cooking much of anything in one of these suites beyond re-heating something take-out, but actually cooking doesn't seem likely. Yet they put in full dishwashers and the house keeping staff will run the whole cycle to wash one fork. This is not extended stay, and I'd consider it a bad choice to play that role. Outside of that this place is super-fine, and I've never had anything go wrong in many stays.||This is the most unusual group of 3 different Hilton brands on the same piece of land, and behind a very vacant mall. They are off the beaten path just a little bit but not hard to see. They need to re-label that body of water behind the place as a pond, rather than a lake. Texas is so dry that folks call any body of water bigger than a tea cup a lake.||This will be my 3rd or 4th visit here, and I keep coming back. This building is not young, but has been kept in almost new condition. Every one of the showers I've seen in this facility has mold along the bottom of the shower door, and this one had a grimy plastic floor with cracks in it. Plastic plumbing fixtures aren't good anywhere, but in a lodging environment they are just too flimsy, and most of them look bad very early in life. The rest of the valves, fixtures, stool, lavatory, and linens were in new condition, but not generous. I had to get more towels from the desk.||They have breakfast typical of a Hilton property with waffles, cereal, scrabbled eggs, dinner sausages, and some kind of BBQ chicken dish. I just don't like dinner sausage at breakfast, and I left them with it. They had oatmeal with lots of nice toppings, sweet breads, toast, and just about everything except fresh biscuits and gravy. They keep the serving dishes full, and take care of the warming trays keeping the items fresh and appealing. Of course they had every kind of drink we expect to find at breakfast in unlimited quantities, and their coffee was ready 1 hour before breakfast starts.||The lobby is spacious and inviting, and the young black man on the desk accommodating and welcoming. I was not amused to go to the desk in the evening and find a sign that says they have abandoned the place, and the customer just has to wait. I can get that much from the Wayfarer, the city's luxury innkeeper where all the independent pharmacists stay, and I do expect more from a Hilton property.||I've stayed here several times and I keep coming back. There are a few minor things they could do better, but I would still recommend them to others. I'll likely be back myself if I need to overnight here. I tried that luxury thing downtown and I find this to be a better value. Your parking is free here, and there is plenty off it. ALL OF THE electronic door access mechanisms worked correctly, and without hassles, which has become a sore spot with me. Many other properties don't achieve this.||I hope they keep up the good work, as it's everything it's supposed to be. That thing they call a lake did...
Read moreI booked two nights at this hotel just to have a relaxed getaway girl’s time while visiting my daughter who’s a student at MSU and my 11yo daughter. My experience was pretty bad from the start. To begin with, the room I requested for was not what they booked for me over the phone and I had to call back and cancel first reservation to add the lake view which I obviously paid extra for. I requested the 1 king bed 1 bedroom nonsmoking suite that has doors to separate the bedroom from the living room area, but the customer service representative booked the studio suite which is not what I originally asked for and didn’t feel like calling back to cancel the second reservation. Nonetheless the lake view was not as expected. The front desk lady was very rude at check in, she greeted us as if she hates her job. She couldn’t find my reservation as my last name was misspelled, she didn’t provide the welcome package and when I asked the next afternoon if I was supposed to get one at check in, she looked down on me and was quite condescending. She stated “it depends“ but never clarified what it depended on. After checking on my reservation she handed me the bag with two water bottles. The room was very clean but, I had clearly requested to be pet free due to my severe allergies and was obviously not pet free at all. My allergies got very bad as soon as I entered the room which unfortunately made my stay quite uncomfortable and needed to be taking medicine constantly. The front desk lady indeed confirmed they aren’t pet free just “deep cleaned”. While it’s nice they are pet friendly for guest who have pets I would also appreciate if they had a few 100% pet free rooms for guests that have severe allergies. I trusted their word when they told me over the phone at booking they had pet free rooms and I suffered for believing it. The breakfast area is very clean and inviting however, the ladies who work there made it very uncomfortable, awkward and uninviting overall. They’re always talking in a very vulgar manner using profane language about all their personal drama in (Spanish). Although Spanish it’s not my primary language, I speak and understand it very well, therefore I could perfectly understand all the marital and family drama that they gossiped about nonstop for the 2 days I stayed there during breakfast time. I understand that might not be relevant nor uncomfortable for non Spanish speakers guests but I was there with my 21 and 11 yo daughters who happens to understand Spanish as well. I do not have anything against them speaking on their native language but keep personal vulgar marital drama away from the workplace or at least at a low tone, specially when people go there to relax for a weekend.
My daughters wanted to go swimming and asked for towels but were told they didn’t have any left. When they went to the swimming pool it did not look inviting at all neither the hot tub, so they weren’t able to use them. Unfortunately my experience at this hotel was far from what I had planned for my get away weekend with...
