I drove 12 hours, overnight. Asked the lady at the front desk if I was able to check in a little early. She stated, "I'm the only one here, right now (this was going on 1 p.m.). Can you give me an hour and I'll have your room ready." Came back an hour later. Same woman at front desk said, "I'm sorry. You're room's still not ready. Can you give me another half hour?" By that time, it would already be close to normal check in time, so my daughter and I just waited in the car till closer to 3 p.m. That was just the start of the problems. When we were able to check in, the lady at the front desk asked if I still needed a handicap accessible room. I told her no, so she proceeded to put us in 210. When my daughter went in to take a shower, the floor mat was a little damp and the shower curtain was also still wet, like someone had just recently checked out of that room. I was going to complain, at that time, and ask for a different room, but my daughter said not to. Then, when my daughter was done showering and she pulled back the duvet and top sheet on her bed, there was like someone's face oil or some type of oily looking stain on her fitted sheet. When I pulled the duvet back, on my bed, it had either chocolate or blood on the underside of it. Needless to say, we had to go to the front desk and ask for new sheets. You would think that that would send a single to someone in charge that maybe that room isn't up to standards of cleanliness, and offer us another room, but no one did. I'm really loosing my patience, at this point, but my daughter again asked me not to complain. The swimming pool and hot tub were "Out of Order," the duration of our stay. I believe I should receive some sort of refund as this is considered an amenity and something both myself and my daughter were looking forward to. The vending machine had expired candy (6 months expired) in it. The next day after check in, the front desk lady, from the day before, comes knocking on our door. I was just getting out of the shower, still soaking wet, hair dripping, and she knocks a second time. I wrap the towel around me and let her in. Apparently, our shower/tub was leaking into the room below us. She did apologize, but still never offered to put us in another room. As my daughter and I were driving around Wichita Falls, I noticed a nice, new Comfort Inn, in a different area of town, and was tempted to ask for a refund, where we were at, and either try the other Comfort Inn or pick a whole other hotel all together. Very disappointed. It was Customer Service at Choice Hotels that made the reservation. I just called them to find out what my Choice Hotel membership number was, and she took it upon herself to put me in that Comfort Inn instead of offering the newer looking one. Needless to say, I would not stay at that Comfort Inn, again, nor would I...
Read moreEveryone on the staff is very warm and welcoming. Kenny, the manager is an excellent team manager, which is obvious as you see the whole team working together like a well oiled machine. Morgan is new at the front desk and already very suave at her job and very nice and accomodating. Vanessa is the night desk and also is very friendly and accomodating. Kathy (1) and Kathy (2) are the other desk clerks on night and mid shift and also very nice and friendly. Room is clean and recently renovated. Equipment functional. Lots of hot water and pressure for nice shower or hot bath. Bed is outstanding (I think it is a Beautyrest hospitality line premium mattress). Also there are pillows of various density to get your best possible sleep. Beverly sets up the breakfast and Asha keeps it going, in addition, the day shift desk clerk helps to keep up the breakfast items. The breakfast is always ready ahead of schedule, with the room unlocked and available before 6 AM. The breakfast is a complete menu of eggs, sausage or bacon, biscuits or potatoes. In addition, there is delicious coffee, fresh juice, fresh fruit like apples or/and bananas, tortillas, milk, cereal, hot water, tea, oatmeal, various bread, pastries, yoghurt, boiled eggs, Belgian waffles, and some other items I can't remember. The hotel is walking distance(100 feet) from the most fabulous Chinese buffet I ever visited "Grand Buffet Seafood & Sushi." Price is $72 to $75 for 2 queen beds plus about $12 for tax. A great value for this area, you won't be...
Read moreAWESOME HOTEL - My boys and I were looking for affordable hotel when returning to Houston. This hotel was great! Ok, the first floor is being renovated, so I was a bit cautious. The overnight manager informed us that the hotel was going through a complete renovation. The second and third floor are finished and the first floor is almost done. Our room was on the third floor and when the elevator door opened, I was so impressed with the look and feel of the hotel! The new carpeted hallways lead us to our room. When we entered the room, we were delighted to find the room beautifully decorated, new refrigerator, microwave and two very comfortable beds. The bathroom was spotless and stocked with plenty of clean towels. In the morning, we found the complimentary breakfast to be as amazing as the hotel. Both warm and cold items were offered. Both were delicious. The staff were friendly, helpful and were eager to please. I can’t find a negative thing to say about this outstanding hotel. On behalf of my boys and I, we are thankful for this hotel and staff. I would recommend it all travelers who are looking for a comfortable hotel in or around the...
