The food here is fantastic and great for something different. The service is slow, but the wait is worth it. The food is always hot and fresh when you get it! I've had a wide variety of their menu. I've had their hand patties my favorite of the two(beef/chicken) is beef. My toddler loved the beef pasty. The dauce they are served with helps to cool the spice down a touch. The stuffed pineapples are visually appealing and super tasty. I really enjoy the shrimp variations of the pineapple. The seasoning on the shrimp is perfect and the shrimp aren't overcooked. My husband and I shared the chefs special which was goat curry. It was surprisingly good. I was a tad apprehensive, but was happily surpised by the tenderness of the meat and the mild earthiness of the curry spice mix. My only issue was some of the bones were to small to notice until being bitten down on. Not a huge deal though. The kabobs are good, I prefer the chicken to the beef. The reason being that the beef was a tad over-done for my preference. The veggies they come with are charred and tasty. I also love the calypso chicken. I also enjoy the jerk chicken. Its all bone-in which I like. I feel that thigh meat tends to be less dry than breast meat. The sides are good. Her beans and rice are average, Veggie mix is good, the cheesy pineapples potatoes are nice for a change. The mac and cheese though is so dang good. It's cheesy and has a tad of a kick to it. The noodles are aldente and then the edges of the pan get crunchy, ugh is so dang good y'all, TRY IT. Appetizers, I've had the fries they are alright. Definitely not my favorite menu item, but enjoyable for something different. We had egg rolls filled with shrimp and some spice, they were BOMB. They aren't a regular menu item, but I wish they were! So good and they were served with a sweet carmel colored dipping sauce. Dessert, GET THE BREAD PUDDING! I've had bread pudding in NOLA, I've had it is Costa Rica, I've had it in Mississippi, all over the south, heck even my own momma's kitchen and Fazmoz bread pudding is the best!!!! It's so moist, the dried fruit in it adds a nice chew, the white coconut flake on top in a warm carmel sauce, those cinnamon spices, and it cuts like a dream! It's that good! Come try this place! Be patient, enjoy your friends and company!...
Read moreWe recently visited and unfortunately had a negative experience. We were overcharged by $3-4 per meal, with the restaurant citing inflation as the reasoning. While I understand that prices may change over time, it was disappointing that we were not informed of this beforehand. Instead, we only found out when we received our bill. To make matters worse, the waiter pointed to a 4x6 sign posted by the drinks that she stated mentioned the price increase. It was frustrating to see that the restaurant made no effort to communicate this to us during our order, which would have allowed us to be prepared for the extra cost. To make matters worse, when we brought this issue to the attention of the owner, Her attitude, was rude and dismissive. She refused to acknowledge any fault and seemed uninterested in resolving the issue. It was frustrating to see such a lack of customer service, especially considering the extra cost we had to pay. Overall, We were disappointed with the lack of transparency and communication from Famoz's. While the food was enjoyable, the negative experience with the pricing left a sour taste in our mouths. I hope that in the future, the restaurant will be more upfront with customers about any changes in pricing or atleast update...
Read moreDrove well over an hour and was ecstatic about eating at this establishment. Plenty of family from the Caribbean. The colors and decor of the restaurant was beautiful, chicken was also fresh. On another note, the service was not so well. Our order was placed, we were uninformed of being charged for soda since the drink machine was not working and each "refill" was a charge. Once the order was in, we waited a long while for the food which was a simple order, while the waitress seemed to cater more and be a little more friendly to some other customers that came in after us yet received their food way ahead of us. It seems they cater more to one ethnicity than others, maybe just this particular day. Not the best first experience. 3 star rating is for the food. Update!! The owner replied the people placed an order in advance but we clearly heard the people say it was their first time there. Instead of making excuses on reviews that are not to well, just please own up to mistakes that were made at said establishment. Will not...
