Read moreTo the Owner of the hotel:||||I stayed at your resort from July 6-11th with my family along with my niece and her family.||||I felt we were targeted and did not appreciate it.||||There were kids running on the second floor at midnight and no one said anything to them. ||||However, my niece had two three year old little boys who lost their dad October and their grandmother last April who were reprimanded by your management twice.||||They were in Room 102, which is directly near the steps so when we sat outside the room, people constantly had to come by us. We didn’t mind that or say anything about it. However, your management had some issues with these little boys.||||On Saturday afternoon, your manager came by and said we had too many toys outside and had to put some away. At that time, there were flash cards under the concrete where the beach-chairs and boogie boards are stored from everyone and about 10 little cars against the wall underneath the chairs we were sitting on. They are children and we were on vacation and paid you almost $5000 for both units for the 5 days. Only toys that were theirs was the flash cards and little cars. All the beach chairs and boogie boards I guess was okay to stay there but the boys playing with their flash cards was unacceptable.||||Then on Monday night we took them to the boardwalk and bought them a little car with lights. They had a switch on the bottom that they went by themselves. As they were playing with them, the cars passed the steps going around and the manager said to my brother (their grandfather) that they toys can’t be left there. Now, we know we would not leave the toys there and there was no reason to say it. That’s all they had outside, which they were playing with. They were little cars as well.||||However, on Monday night, July 10th, your manager allowed about 15-20 young people in the pool until 9 pm with a radio. However, the pool closed at 8 PM. I also noticed that the gate to the pool does not have an automatic swing closure as this is a new jersey law.||||No where on your hotel policy does it say kids can’t play with their toys outside. What did your management expect them to do, stay in a 2 x 4 room all 5 days. That’s not what we paid all that money for.||||I would hope that this does not happen again to another family on their vacation. I know I will never stay at your hotel again, nor will I suggest...
Read moreYou can tell from the responses to Google reviews that the owner lives for the negative ones and gets excited to receive one for the chance to be snarky with an attitude vs being professional and kind. So here’s my turn, we’ll see what I get:
Booked for MDW directly from the website in March 2025. Paid the deposit and left a note in the Reservation Requests clearly stating I had an ESA dog (training as service dog atm) to be sure I covered my basis legally in informing them.
Called today to confirm when the final payment would be processed or if it was due at check in and mentioned the note to confirm we were good to go and was told they won’t accept the ESA because his cleaning staff is scared of dogs, then would accept her with a $200 fee.
How does $200 make the staff less scared of a crated dog?
He mentioned that no motels/hotels in Wildwood accept ESAs which isn’t true as I’ve stayed at others with her several times and am not booking with another hotel that is good to go on the ESA front. I like to give my business to a variety of business owners and try different places which is why I tried a new hotel, assuming that with notice, there wouldn’t be issue as that’s typically the standard.
I asked to cancel, he said I would only receive a portion of my deposit as I was in the 14 day window. I’d be fine with that as it’s their policy and understandable that he’d abide by that except I informed them months ago. No one reviewed the reservation or the notes in all this time and I was forced to cancel past the 14 day time frame.
At the end of the day, kindness in attitude goes a long way and aside from the fact that I was backed into a corner to cancel and lost money because of it, I got rude cockiness on the other end of the phone. I respect business owners, it’s not easy. Especially public facing and having to deal with people and personalities day in and day out and people trying to take advantage but it seems there is a reason the reviews are what they are.
Sending good vibes and well wishes that things will get better for the business and attitudes will...
