We were from out of town and looking for a place to eat. This place had good reviews, so we decided to give it a shot
This place was disgusting. The men’s bathroom smelled like urine and did not have any soap or paper towels. If you accidentally bumped the table we sat at, it rocked back and forth so hard that the drinks kept spilling. We told the waitress, but she didn’t care. Some of our group liked the food that they ordered, but most didn’t.
When the bill came, we noticed the prices were different than were listed on the menu we ordered from. When we asked the waitress about it, she said that the menu was from Paul’s Deli across the street. When you ordered the food, it came from Paul’s but you were charged their prices on your bill. She said that the owner had three places in the area and charged different prices even if the food was the same. He set the pricing and his staff was following the instructions given to them by the owner. When I asked for contact information for the owner, the waitress said he was out of the country and wouldn’t return my call. She went and got the “manager” that was there. She made excuses and offered to go and adjust the bill. At that point, I had enough, so we paid the bill and began to leave. The “manager” returned with another “manager”. All that he wanted to do was argue with me. He said that the previous manager offered to adjust the bill. I told him I shouldn’t have to ask for the bill to be adjusted to the prices that were advertised to me when I sat down.
After seeing how dirty this place was and the bait and switch on pricing, I think the reviews that I saw were written by the owners friends. I would have given it zero stars if that...
Read moreWe stopped in on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. We were not greeted at the door. Stood there for 10 minutes. Then a girl came over that was talking to her coworkers the whole time we stood there waiting to be seated. And said. "Oh hi." Would you like a table? No I came in to stand here. Smh It was nice outside so we asked to sit in the covered patio spot. We were told to sit away. After walking away from three dirty tables we found one that was almost clean. We sat down and ordered drinks. The same girl that sat us was our waitress. She brought us our drinks then took our order. As we waited for our food we kill time talking. Oh and fighting off the flies from hell! My pizza came out and my wife's salad came out. Her salad looked so bad. She asked for a balsamic dressing. She got just balsamic. I called our waitress over ask her to get some dressing and she then told me that's how their dressing is. My wife not wanting to make a big deal said fine. Fine FINE! lol I took a slice of my pizza and got into a fight with the 80 lbs of cheese that was on it. Looked over at my wife who wasn't eating and wasn't happy to be there and said are you ready to leave? She said. Yes please. I asked for a box for my cheese with pizza. Paid our bill and started to leave. As we walk out the main door the waitstaff was doing each other's hair in the dinning area. Then looked at us and said bye. This is more of a college night spot and college football game day place. I used to come here years ago for NFL game days with the guys. But it has really gone downhill. The place needs an update and cleaning...
Read moreI'm a sandwichologist, certified. I wouldn't cal this place a deli, but neither do they so it's fair (What's a Delly?). This is a sandwich-shop and a damn good one. I usually get the food to go because the floors are sticky and the place reminds me of a wild college bar (it apparently is) but that's not important. What's important is the sandwiches are off-the-chain. The chicken parm is 10/10 but a little saucy, beef dip easily 10/10 very simple and delicious for the price , fries are great, portions are proportional to the price it's very good. The Reuben is excellent but be warned, it's shaved meet (which is fine, I'm just saying, most places around here do it like that. I like actual corned beef cut thick but that's just me). Last but certainly not least, is the cheeseburger sub, wowza. This is the best cheeseburger sub I have ever had! The meat is tender, toppings are just right, bread is perfect and not soggy at all. Great place, have eaten there twice in the last week and will likely eat there twice next week. I will probably try the turkey next but I didn't get a good feeling about the answer I got when I asked if it was made fresh or if it was deli-meat and I'm not interested in any deli-turkey when that cheeseburger sub is an option. If anyone can answer that for me it'd be much appreciated. Also if anyone knows about the status of the CheeseBurger sub at Paul's deli I would like to know because I'm trying to go halvesees with my wife and do a 1/2 cheeseburger sub 1/2 fried fish sub but this place doesn't do fish anymore apparently (which, I respect). I love you...
