This may be standard if you generally stay in hotels in this price range, but if you are used to Hampton/Fairfield Inns, then this will not be a hotel for you. Based on good reviews online and favorable pictures, we were hopeful this would be decent. We arrived late and were so tired from our drive, to find a run down, sketchy looking hotel. The online listing mentions a pool on site, but there are signs at the desk to go elsewhere, to another motel, for access to a pool. The check in area has toys and kids ride on vehicles because there are often kids running around or driving their cars throughout the parking lot (I think the owners extended family is often hanging out in the front and in the parking lot, not a problem, but just look out for kids while parking). The ride up the elevator feels like the Tower of Terror, with wall panels falling off, scary sounds and the uncertainty that you'll actually make it to your floor. The walk to the room is less than appealing as well. Finally, into the room, it was much better than expected upon first glance. We did find that our sheets had just been remade but not changed, as we found black hairs in the bed and on pillow cases. I went and got two changes of sheets and one of those had a large discolored area and a brown streak on it... Not any better. The front desk did not seem to be concerned when I brought that back to them and just double checked that I didn't need those dirty sheets they just gave me, thinking they had been clean. The shower area had several areas of rust or dirtiness, but it was tolerable. The rest of the room looked decent, but we still took a package of sanitizing wipes to all surfaces to help us feel better about spending the night. We had prepaid and it was late, so we didn't leave and go elsewhere. My wife was very upset and regretted that she chose the hotel as an attempt to save money on our trip. We did end up staying our full 3 nights, unsure if we could complain to Travelodge and get out of our prepaid stay. Once we had cleaned everything and came to terms with the Tower of Terror elevator and everything else, it seemed tolerable since we were out all day and only there to shower and sleep. Our cleaning of the room probably left it cleaner than when we showed up. We would not choose to stay here again and will be avoiding all Travelodge motels in the future.

Oh Williamsburg pottery...you were my saving grace in June when it was hot and you had real good AC and it was my first time here. There was music and it was lively. Came back today and well let's just say I felt sad. I walked through all 3 buildings and came to the conclusion I can see why no one likes it here. The building is filled with empty shelves. Items are either expired food, poorly discounted, or dusty. No really there is layers of dust on it. Why is winter stuff 65% off but summer 50% off clearance? I mean shouldn't dinner be in the reverse or 80% off. I walked in one building and the employee, I kid you not shuffled 5 steps and stared off at the wall. I froze watching her ... she was staring then waddled off 10 more steps and acted like she was folding a garden flag. I could not make this up! There was one really engaged staff in customer service that was happy and the rest well looked like they were there when the old pottery was built and still haven't gotten over it from the 80s. Now don't get me wrong there are a few nice things in there, but man is it empty in there. The problem is there is so much wide space in there mixed between empty shelving it looks like they're closing. They need to consolidate their gear into two buildings, open up a program/class space, and in the third building use it for event rentals/classes. Update the music in there and do more program planning. In the third building put in a cafe and pottery merch with cups and shirts. Finally, put in an indoor play structure for families. The event space can be rented out. Well if you ever wanted to see a space even more trivial than Ollie's basement warehouse here you go. Sorry Pottery time to step up your game.

Great Hotel! Check in was simple and quick, and the staff was super friendly. The room was very clean, comfortable and a bargain for the price! It had things that a lot of more expensive high end hotels do not offer, like a fridge and a microwave! and unlike some of the other more expensive hotels that I have stayed at, that did have fridges or microwaves, they were a lot of times, not clean or had odors...but not at this hotel! the ones in my room were super clean and no odors! they had coffee supplies and a coffee maker, ironing board, iron...hangers for clothes, a dresser, table/chairs, plenty of towels, soaps, shampoos and even a shower cap! I have been anywhere that offered a shower cap. As simple as that might seem, I really appreciate it! They have great channels on the tv, The hotel is a little older, but I think it s super nice and their breakfast is perfectly fine! A lot of people complain that it isn't some buffet, well it isn't a restaurant....so what they offer is actually great. It's a way to grab a quick breakfast and be on your way. Love the honey buns! Overall though, it was very close to everything and I enjoyed my visit and stay. I would definitely stay again and I thank the owners for the clean room, great price and courteous service.

The staff were never at the front desk. However, they did come out from a back room when the bell was rung. My stay was scheduled from Monday to Thursday. Housecleaning staff came by once on Tuesday while I was gone to empty the trash. They did NOTHING ELSE. On Wednesday, I saw one of the housekeepers at 10am. She told me my room would be cleaned by the time I got back from Water Country USA. I got back at 2pm, so my 5 year-old daughter could take a nap. NOTHING WAS DONE. Both times, when I complained, I was told the staff comes by to empty the trash from all the rooms. Then, they collect all the towels from all the rooms, etc. THEY DO NOT CLEAN YOUR ENTIRE ROOM AND REPLACE NECESSARY ITEMS IN ONE TRIP. THEY MAKE MULTIPLE TRIPS TO YOUR ROOM AT DIFFERENT TIMES FOR DIFFERENT REASONS. The water pressure in the sink was nonexistent. The water dribbled out. The water pressure in the tub was only a tiny bit better. The was a poorly patched hole in the wall beside the refrigerator. And, another poorly patched hole on the inside door of the bathroom. There was toilet paper stuffed into the rubber door stopper on the wall. The toilet paper is actually NECESSARY to keep the doorknob from damaging the wall. The tray the ice bucket sits on was dirty. The ice bucket was dirty. There was a moisture wicking bag hanging opposite the refrigerator that was full and needed to be emptied. The television remote only worked if you pointed it at an exact spot on the television. You had to press the "cc" button on the remote in order to get a picture on the t.v. Otherwise, there would only be sound coming from the t.v. The outside of the property desperately needed power washing and SEVERAL coats of paint. The white paint was dirty and depressing. The railings needed several coats of paint as well. The one elevator smelled of urine. The staff did not clean the tables in the lobby after guests had "breakfast". So, if you wanted a clean table to eat your "breakfast" you had to clean it yourself. Your self-served "breakfast" consisted of your choice of tangerines or bananas, EGGO-like waffles, bread/toast, mini banana nut muffins, or Fruit Loops or Frosted Flakes Cereal. Beverage choices consisted of only one choice of cow's milk at whatever percentage of fat (I did not look), coffee, orange juice, apple juice, lemonade, or water. However, the beverage machine was only on and available for breakfast. You were not able to even get water throughout the rest of the day. However, coffee was always available. During my stay, the temperature was above 90 each day. The office/breakfast is always hot. That may be why the staff was always in the back. Maybe they were trying to cool off?

I would not book this "hotel" ever again. The staff doesn't care, management doesn't care, and obviously the owners do not care enough to pay for much need improvements and/or...

My husband booked the room on line. When we arrived The young girl who checked me in wasn't very pleasant. She seemed upset when I asked to see the room before I paid. The room seemed to be clean with no bugs in site. So I paid for two nights but had to ask for a receipt which seemed to upset her as well. You have to exit the lobby to to get to the rooms. As we got off the elevator the smell of marijuana was very strong. Which I didn't smell earlier. We joked about it and went to our room. I had called down to the front desk to get the password for the WiFi and no answer after 4 tries. I went back down to the office and there were 2 very young girls and seemed to be there mother. I requested the password and gave it to me and I explained I had called several times but no answer. She said they didn't know what to do and the other girl left. My husband doesn't sleep well and he said another guest had multiple people coming and going out of there room through out the night. Another guest was up all night playing very loud music and partying all night into early morning (3 am). They were a way from us didn't hear the music unless you went out our room. I felt this is a drug area. The TV was fuzzy not a clear picture. The bathroom door is a slide plastic door. Which I fugured to make it wheel chair accessible. Not for sure if all the rooms are like this. The ice machine was beeping until someone unplugged it. I assume it didn't work. We stayed on the second floor in room 401. The bed was very soft and got up with my hips and back hurting. Paid for two nights but will try to get a refund for one and stay some where else. The location was close to restaurants but I don't recommend staying here. It was posted in the lobby as well as the door that the office was open at 7 am and breakfast was durning certain hours. Well the office was not open and all doors were locked. I had to go back to the room and called the front desk and I had gotten the young lady out of bed. I was told they didn't serve breakfast or coffee and the manager would have to give me a refund. Went back down to turn in the key and the manager was there told me I would receive my refund...
