⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had a great breakfast experience at Capitol Pancake House. The standout for me was definitely the cornbread pancakes — a unique and flavorful twist on the classic, with just the right amount of sweetness and a hearty texture. They were cooked perfectly and paired well with syrup and butter. We also ordered sausage and homefries, both of which were solid. The sausage had good flavor and wasn’t overly greasy, while the homefries were nicely seasoned and had a good balance of crispiness and softness. Another highlight was the French toast with peaches. The toast was thick and golden brown, and the peaches added a sweet, slightly tangy touch that made it feel like a dessert for breakfast — in the best way. Service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was casual and family-friendly, with plenty of seating. The only reason for the 4-star rating is that while everything was good, there wasn’t one particular “wow” moment. That said, we’d definitely return and recommend it for anyone looking for a satisfying, classic breakfast with a few creative menu options.

They did a great job with our table of 6, we noticed a couple of other large tables at the same time. We all ordered different items from French toast to eggs Benedict. Not one complaint from anyone. Highly recommend this unassuming breakfast joint!

This wasn't the worst experience I've ever had, but the combination of wait times and food is what's driving my decision not to come back. The service was okay, friendly however several wait staff were moving very slowly. Our waiter was pleasant and did a good job. We waited 20 min for a party of 2, then another 10 min after seated for drink orders and another 35 min for food after ordered. The food was nothing to write home about. Portion size was good but taste was quite bland. The chicken had very little flavor. The best part of mine was the kickin biscuit and gravy. The flavor difference was the hot sauce loaded gravy. The atmosphere was so loud we couldn't hear each other across the table and it was freezing in the place. Overall it seemed they prioritized the large groups over small and several large groups that came in well after us got their food at the same time as us. Your better off trying some of the other breakfast places that have a good workflow and can handle the busy mornings.

Went here this morning for breakfast for the first time ever (after dozens of trips to Williamsburg and other local breakfast spots). We arrived before the morning rush. Two of us ordered pecan pancakes with grits and my husband ordered an omelette. The pancakes were really fluffy and delicious but could've been amazing if they had more pecans. The rest of the food was also really good. The coffee, on the other hand, was terrible! We ordered a pitcher of decaf and a pitcher of regular and they both tasted like dishwater. My husband even said it was the worst coffee he's ever had and he re-heats day old coffee at home (eww!). Considering we were there so early, I couldn't believe the coffee would taste that stale. When we went to pay, we mentioned it to the manager at the register who said "we've never had a complaint about our coffee before!" And offered for us to take a cup to go as he said there was no way the coffee was that bad because they only order "the best coffee." We took a cup to go and it smelled great and was definitely fresher. Overall, breakfast was good, service was decent, and the staff was always hustling! I just felt the coffee situation could've been...

My co-worker and I stopped on our way for a 5 1/2 hour ride to a job. We were both starving and wanted to find a new really good breakfast spot. We didn't have time to sit down and eat, so we got breakfast to go. I ordered 2 eggs over easy, toast, bacon, and home fries. The restaurants appearance looked great, and I thought I was in for a spectacular breakfast! Unfortunately that could not be father from the truth🥴. First off the service we received from the woman who took our order was very disappointing. It was like she was somewhere else and was not even paying attention, and that reflected when I opened the bag. She forgot important details, and when I opened carton to eat I was upset. The Bacon was extremely salty, to the point I could not eat it. I received toast, dry no butter. The home fries were bland, and I asked for pepper with my order, but only received 1 packet with about 25 granules of black pepper, so I was unable to put pepper on anything else, and that did not help home fries. The only thing that was decent, were the eggs. With the bad service, and lack of quality food, I can safely say that I will never return to this restaurant, and feel like I...
