I usually do not leave reviews but this one I feel like I should.
Background: My husband and I decided to treat our in-laws to the LLWS. Going to the LLWS is on my father-in-laws bucket list. My father-in-law, mother-in-law, and sister-in-law all flew from Oklahoma to North Carolina(where we live) and then we drove up to PA. We wanted pizza and told my sister-in-law that it was her pick. She chose Stone House. We are staying in Lewisburg(about 25/30 minutes away).
Our Experience: When we got there we had about a 25 minute wait which was not too big of a deal. We put our 11 month old in the stroller and strolled him around. It’s a nice location! Once we got seated the waitress came and took our drink orders. After getting our drinks we ordered our entrees and an appetizer. The appetizer came relatively quickly. It was very good! Then it went down hill from here. We had to wait quite a long time for our entrees. My husband even made a comment that it was taking a long time. When they finally did come I found a piece of black plastic in my food. I asked my family if I should flag someone and they said I should. It took a while to finally find someone to flag. One woman walked by and I started to flag her but she kept on walking. Then a waitress came by to help another table and I flag her. She was not our waitress. I’m not sure where our waitress was. I told her that there was plastic in my food and she said sorry and that she would get a new one, took the food, and walked off. While I sat and waited my entire family ate their entrees. Our waitress didn’t come by for quite some time and when she did she said sorry and that they would take it off the bill. She didn’t really say much else. My mother-in-law asked for boxes for their food and the waitress said my food would be another “3” minutes. I told her to just box it up. I didn’t want to be the only one at the table eating. About 10-15 minutes later the manager came with my food. He said sorry, that they compted the meal, and then wisked off. Up until then that was the first time we had even seen the manager. We paid the bill and left.
To set the atmosphere... the ENTIRE time we were there so was a little league team and their parents. They were honestly acting wild(constantly up and down, going from table to table, yelling and chanting, etc.) I don’t expect any less. That’s kind of what happens when you put 20 little boys in a small place. What I was upset about was the fact that the staff was waiting on them hand and foot but could barely even get us a refill. To add to that, there was live music. Between the music and the kids, it was so loud we couldn’t even hear each other speak.
Take Away: The atmosphere and location is nice. The food is good but the service is bad. The staff had 0 personality. If we were back in North Carolina I would probably never go back there again.
I didn’t get to eat my food until we got back to the hotel and put the baby down. It was about 10pm when I climbing in my hotel bed to eat my dinner. Of course when I opened the plastics bag I found that the container they put it in leaked all of the oil into the bag and so it spilled all over the place.
Hopefully next year when we come back, we will not eat...
Read moreWow. busy nite with Lycoming promoting families coming to the square to socialize and eat. And we get met with a person greeting customers that is obviosly overwhelmed and unwelcoming. we are told the wait is over 45 min, in a manner that said"go away". We politely answered that we would wait. took the hockey puck notification device, and told him we were sitting at an unused table on their patio. About 40 minutes go by, and I walk inside, wait through the line, and when it is my turn, I explain that we are on the list, tell him our wait number, and before I can finish, he snide answers that we are still going to have to wait for a table. I informed him, politely again, that I only came in to get a menu so we would be able to order right away, as they are busy. After getting a menu, I asked if we could be sent a few glasses of water while we wait, to which he answered, again snippy, " YOU can go to the bar to get water". I walked outside, a bit dejected and frustrated, and tried to remind myself that It was a busy night, and maybe everyone wasn't as friendly to them today. Well, now we have been sitting here for over 2 hours, the wife goes in to ask about our table/ service, and was answered with a sarcastic " Oh well, we called you over an hour ago". The overwhelming lack of caring by this person is only matched by my surprise when I get informed by the server we finally have (2:17 minutes after asking to spend money here), that the gentleman in question is in fact the manager. I rarely write reviews, and almost all are good, but this has been one of the worst treatments I've had at a restaurant. The rest if the staff has been great, hence not a 1 star review.
I am revising this to 4 stars, as the rest of the staff have been great and the pizza is wonderful. Mr. Tony, I hope you read this and have a disscussion with this manager about how you want your customers greeted...

November 2024 update: Still one of our favorite restaurants but since our previous visit last month Stone House has started a new policy of not giving any coin change. The server will just round the bill up or down. For example my total bill was $14.21 if paying by credit card or $13.77 if paying cash. I opted for cash and gave the server a twenty dollar bill. She returned with a total of $6. No coinage. Which should have been 23¢. And yes I know it is only 23¢ but why was I paying cash to save on the credit card fee if I was going to lose half of it because of the no coin policy? There is no notice of this anywhere - no signs in the restaurant, nothing on the menu or on the bill when it comes. I then offered to pay the 77¢ in change so that the server could bring me another dollar. She spoke with the manager and I did receive another dollar in change but I was told that I didn't need to pay the 77¢. While this was a nice gesture and seemed to rectify the situation I was made to feel somewhat foolish (like a Karen) for making a fuss about 23¢. (I do understand that this policy would work in my favor if my total bill had been $13.23 but I would have to be eating out at this particular restaurant very often for this policy to even out satisfactorily for me.) Two items of note: If you are instituting a no coinage policy you NEVER short the customer & you should also NOT be charging a...
