We were producing an experience at the Las Vegas Convention Center and chose to put our team up here for convenience. Last time we will make that mistake.
Most important to us, were the rooms and our quality of sleep. We were working all day in the convention center and needed our rest. We had to make three different noise complaint calls between 3a-6a as one of the rooms on our floor was extremely loud with 10+ voices in the room playing extremely loud music. The hotel did nothing about it. They said they were sending someone, but from what we saw nothing was done and they didn't stop at all. After the third call we went next door and handled it ourselves threatening to call LVPD. That evening we slept for only a few hours which really hurt the next day. Again, the hotel did nothing. Not apology, points, or effort made.
On our first night there, my pillows were extremely soft. Almost no filling at all and i needed some toothpaste. I called the front desk and asked for some additional pillows (foam if possible) and toothpaste. After waiting an hour, i called again. It took them over two hours to make it to my room with the requested items.
As a very active Elite Bonvoy member, we are particular about our points and reservations. The hotel took our reservations and split them up and changed key details within them without our permission. This effected our ability to receive the correct points for our stay. They also gave us incorrect information around the Bonvoy points and program regarding our stay which resulted in us making decisions that resulted in us losing our points. We have this in writing guaranteeing us point redemption that is inaccurate.
After my stay I called Tiffany the GM to address my concerns, primarily the points as they messed our folios to point that we were missing 96k points. It took 3 repeated calls to her to receive a call back. Once I received one, she was beyond room and unhelpful. It is no wonder why she is the GM of this hotel. We made a formal case against her and the hotel with Bonvoy. Bonvoy acknowledged the hotels mistakes, but couldn't rectify the issue as the folio's themselves were modified by the hotel. After my Bonvoy complaint, Tiffany reached back out with a very passive aggressive email and comped me one night for the poor service and misinformation provided.
I would really think twice before staying here. If you need to stay by the convention center, there are much better places. The Marriott proper is next door and much nicer for the same price. This hotel is dated, extremely poor service, and no...
Read moreWe had planned for a 2 night camping road trip in a very remote area of the desert called "Little Finland" in our 4wd truck and were planning on spending the 3rd and last night at the Courtyard by Marriott specifically so we could attend the Rise Festival on Saturday evening which was supposed to be the highlight of our adventure. A washout in the track caused us to abort our plans as the newly formed river was way too soft for us to cross without other vehicles in case we got stuck. Too late in the day to divert to another location, and since we were only a couple of hours or so from Vegas, we turned around and called the hotel (once we had cell service again) to see if we could get in 2 days early. The reservation clerk was very happy to help us and able to accommodate our earlier arrival that evening.
At check-in, after waiting a few minutes behind a woman with a lot of questions to be checked in, a young woman who was working in the Bistro came over and greeted me with a very nice, friendly and warm smile and offered to check me in. I asked only for a quiet room for a preference because I have a sleep disordered that is related to Parkinson's Disease which makes being next to an elevator or ice machine a serious downer! She looked at the rooms available and rather than make me choose (a task for which I was unprepared and ill informed) she said that if it was her choosing and staying that she would chose the one we ended up with. Turned out to be a very quiet and comfortable room looking into the courtyard from the second floor. I asked if a luggage cart was available at the side entrance for our use and she replied with a bright smile "if there isn't, there will be by the time you get to the door" and of course it was there as she brought it herself!
We arrived around 8pm and were starving but the Bistro was still open so we ate there for the first time ever and had a delicious hot meal and I enjoyed a superior IPA by Dogfish! We ate at least one meal every day at the Bistro and were super pleased with all of them.
The room was clean, quiet and comfortable especially the bed and pillows. Parking was easy, close and inexpensive!
The Las Vegas Casino monorail was right across the street! and walking to the strip is definitely doable if you feel like exercising a bit!
Service, staff and amenities at The Courtyard made for a very nice (although somewhat unplanned) ...
Read moreDeceptive photos! It’s very run down and loud, like a motel. Overpriced, as shown in real photos. Staff is good. Management and ownership are terrible. Marriott Bonvoy benefits will not be honored. Just stay on the strip for cheaper with better rooms and accommodations. This is the worst Courtyard I’ve been to, but I have largely just been to nice ones.
Most importantly: it really is run down. It’s been “renovated”— actually, this means they threw new furnishings into a still very old hotel, unlike most Marriott renovations. They also started applying new wallpaper but gave up after the entrance. It’s really odd.
Popcorn ceiling, which hasn’t been a thing since the asbestos ban. Thin walls and doors mean you can hear every sound from the outside. There’s still an AC box in the corner, bad for people with allergies. The shower/toilet room has zero ventilation and no fan, which can be suffocating (and I imagine would trap in scents, it certainly did with the shampoo). I found a bug in the shower, a random flying insect, but given the condition of this place I’m just surprised I didn’t see more.
Staff are great, but ownership and management are the worst I’ve seen. I typically stay at hotels with some semblance of care; this one was a cookie cutter “Courtyard”. The US shouldn’t have to settle for such poor hotels: in Japan, a Courtyard is really nice. Again, the staff are quite cool and I like them. It’s a shame they have to work here, the conditions for employees are probably worse than that of guests.
Marriott Bonvoy elite status will not be honored. While being “Bonvoyed” is apparently quite common, it’s never happened to me. You’re guaranteed certain things (literally guaranteed, per the terms and conditions), but this hotel does not accommodate. I’m actually not too upset about this because it allowed me to go elsewhere, which is weird, but if you stay here you’ll understand too. It’s really, really run down, especially for the price.
Like really run down. ...
