We came at the end of January.
We arrived at 11am on a Thursday... it was $22 for check-in before 2pm. The rates for early check-in & check-out vary by day of the week. The staff can look up prices for you. We looked into late check out on Saturday & it was $30 to stay until 1pm or $50 to stay until 3pm (normal checkout is 11am). They can store your luggage for free if you don't want to pay extra & your flights are later.
They have all self check-in stations now but staff are available to help. The people at the bell desk are super helpful if you have questions & the check-in lines are long.
When you check in, they do charge a $50 security deposit which should get refunded (aka be prepared to be charged a smidgen more than you expected!). And I know the resort fees are annoying, but all of the strip hotels do this now. Circus Circus is still super cheap.
Also avoid the people at the entrances offering vouchers... they are pitching a time share type of deal that requires a bunch of your time. Just smile & say no thank you & keep moving! :)
The water slides and splash pad were closed for the season, but he pool closest to the Adventuredome was open... the swim shop and pool side Cafe were closed. Towels are provided & life guards are on duty. The front desk can tell you the current pool hours.
The buffet was open Friday & Saturday for breakfast and dinner & Sunday for breakfast. The food court has lots of food options. And Big Top Eats is kind of hidden behind slot machines across from the food court has some good priced quick meals. And they are open 24/7.
They have specials for $7.77 like grilled cheese with tomato soup, half sized pizza, hot dog, breakfast sandwiches, French toast, or Pancakes. They also have 10 oz water bottles for $1 (vs the 20 oz of Aquafina for $5).
We stayed in the Skytower which was close to the pool and Adventuredome. It was clean & my 9 year old thought it was SO fancy. She didn't even notice the dented & chipped furniture... it's really not bad, it's just old. It's why the prices are so low! If you are looking to nit pic you'll find reasons to complain, but it is totally fine for the price.
The towels are thin, they provide bar soap & "conditioning" shampoo- standard for a budget hotel... you can always bring your own. We found the beds to be comfortable & enjoyed seeing the Vegas Sphere from our room at night.
We did the midway- my daughter mostly did the Claw machines. We had one instance where the machine took our money, but the staff were able to fix it asap. The easiest midway game to win a good prize is the balloon game- if you burst 6 balloons you get the largest prize. My daughter felt very proud with her win (some of the other games are harder & more frustrating).
We did the Adventuredome as well- wrist bands are $60 for unlimited rides. The nice part is that you can leave and come back later if you need a break. They have more midway games in the Adventuredome (free to enter). And they have some good meals for kids that are more affordable- hamburger, fries, and Icee for $10.
There is a gift store called Big Top Shop (near the Adventuredome) where everything is $15 or less. You can let your kids pick out anything they want as a souvenir there & not worry about them picking out something insanely expensive!
The gelato shop on-site is delicious- we had Gelato every day. They don't provide samples, but we didn't find a flavor we didn't like.
The Starbucks line can get long, but you can order from the Starbucks app and skip the line completely. We did this for breakfast one morning- took the elevator down from our room and our food/drinks were ready.
We had a really good stay and would absolutely stay here again.
Yes it's old, no it's not fancy, they have rules in place and extra fees that can seem annoying- but the staff are super nice, kids love it, and if you have the right frame of mind, you will really enjoy your stay here at a fraction of the price of other strip hotels.
In the eyes of my 9 year old- this is the most fancy and amazing hotel...
Read moreDo not waste your money unless you are sure they put you in the renovated rooms. I booked through Expedia and I drove from Phoenix to take my friend for his first time we decided to get a room to rest for 3-4 hours since my friend had a 12 departure flight from Phoenix and we checked in after midnight. I made sure I pick the tower room so my friend could enjoy the sphere and take pictures from the room so I was exited to asked the front desk personnel to please put me in a higher floor🙏🏻but there is only express check in machines! Finally this lady comes in and in the past years ago they have been nice and they had put us (IWTHUT ASKING) in higher floors to enjoy the view! So I was not afraid to asked but what was my surprise that this lady not only charged me way more (I am fully aware of the resort fees but this was way more! ) the initial price on Expedia was $21 that’s the reason why we decided to get a room and rest a couple of hours, there was other hotels for the same price the Luxor and Flamingo etc but since I stayed at the Circus Circus Tower before and it was closer to the sphere we decided to stay here but she wanted to charge me $21 dlls more apart from the $67 dlls that she had already charge me (plus Expedia charges of $25 ) I said no to an upgrade to the 23rd floor or 22nd…So I asked her what floor did you put me in? And when she said “floor 1, I guess if you only staying for a couple of hours it would make your checked out easier” I was like huh? First floor? Wow so where are we? OMG when she told me that I was in the GUETTO side of Circus Circus I was like You got a be kidding me!? All this money on a Sunday when it supposed to be “CHEAPER”? She was impossible!! Is was super late I wanted to cancel but we were tired! So we went to our room! Ay Dios mio! When we parked and open the main door just outside there was what it looked like a “working guy/girl” and a guy was coming out of our building when we walked in the entrance smelled like WEED!!! when we walked in to our room smelled like humid, the bathroom was huge not bad but the toilet was loud and making noise every 15 minutes!! Making it impossible to fall as sleep! The sink did not have the thing to pull to help the water run so the water got stuck! Yes we had a clogged sink! And a dusty room. I have pictures and videos of everything except of the smell and the rudeness of the front lady that did not understand our needs. I contacted Expedia through a chat because I couldn’t find a phone number while I was chatting with Expedia I was on the phone trying to get a hold of the front desk and they NEVER answered the phone! I slept 1 1/2 hours and when I went to check out I figured nobody was going to be there because LITERALLY YOU DON’T SEE A HUMAN IN THE LOBBY when you check in unless you stick around for a little bit maybe because we got there so late? The lady even made the comment that they don’t like humans to the job anymore (referring to her managers) so when I turned in my key she was there and I told her my complaints and she dare to told me that I did not call the front desk! I was like how dare you say that!? Please call the manager. I was tired as heck and I needed to get to Phoenix asap but this lady was calling me a liar! I have NO idea what she told her manager but the manager came out and without me explaining he told me that he was going to send housekeeping and it depends what they said I was going to get Reimbursed. I believed him and I was for sure I was going to get my money back because that NASTY ROOM was not worth almost $67 dlls 🤢plus $26 Expedia! But NOPE I did not heard from him or anybody. Do not waste your money at Circus Circus. My own experience and Opinion.
It doesn’t let me add videos so you can hear how loud was the toilet and the way the sink is designed that it doesn’t have the stick to pull so the water could run….the nightstand are was nasty looking...
Read moreI will NEVER stay at Circus Circus again! I will discourage all my friends , family , coworkers , and anyone I hear mentions this property. What a nightmare !! I booked a reservation on the circus circus website for Wednesday and Thursday. It was a same day booking. I paid the required deposit and headed off to the hotel. When I arrived what a surprise to see that THERE IS NO FRONT DESK TO CHECK IN AT. You have to go to a kiosk to check in. I typed in the confirmation code sent to my email and it said it was invalid that my card was declined. Which is a lie . My bank statement shows it wasn't declined and I was charged for a deposit on a room/booking that was cancelled. Now there's no front desk agents to talk to and get things corrected. What they do have now (the night I checked in) was 3 people wandering around trying to help guests work through their new system. The two employees I dealt with were rude and unprofessional. It was clear they did not want to help me and kept walking away to help other guests checking in. The Asian lady (I say that only because I didn't get her name)After an hour of waiting and watching one of these reservation helpers try unsuccessfully reinstate my reservation. I went back on my phone and booked another reservation. The rates stated on my reservation booking was a BOGO special, making the room rate for two nights 24.95. plus taxes and resort fees. Neither were posted anywhere for me to read during the reservation booking process.. Anyway I paid the deposit of 27.15 to hold room and they sent a confirmation stating that I had a balance of 102.00 upon arrival for surcharges and taxes. It didn't say on the confirmation anything about resort fees though I assumed the 102.00 covered that since I know taxes for a $24.00 reservation aren't $102 . So I booked a new reservation was charged 152.00 for room and resort fees . Another 27.15 for a deposit which I didn't understand since I was there in person making reservation. Total charges for that one room, two weekday nights $179.15. Along with the $$27.15 for the previous reservation that was canceled so now that $24.00 room as advertised has totaled up and been charged to my B of A account $196.00. remember there is no longer a front desk to check in at. Just a couple miserable ,rude and unprofessional employees that have no desire to help because they have to run off and help all the other guests who have problems with their booking as well. Thank God for Carrie. A helper who just started her shift and spent nearly an hour trying to fix my reservation. Ultimately she was unsuccessful and I booked it online myself. The rooms smell horrible and are dirty inside, Turned a nice little vacation with family in to an absolutely horrible and expensive stay. As for that resort fees. That covers local calls, gym, help with flight reservations . ALL THINGS THAT AS A GUEST WOULD NEVER USE. I HAVE MY OWN PHONE , DROVE SO FLIGHT HELP Wasn't NEEDED, DIDN'T STEP FOOT IN THE GYM . BASICALLY THEY ARE STRAIGHT UP STEALING FROM YOU. FORCING YOU TO PAY FOR THINGS YOU DON'T WANT OR WONT USE. 51. 00 A DAY YOU PAY FOR NOTHING/ RESORT FEE WITH A 24.00 ROOM RATE. WHAT A BUNCH OF BS. I CALLED TO SPEAK TO A MANAGER WHO WAS JUST AS UNHELPFUL AND UNACCOMMODATING AS THE HELPERS AT THE KIOSK. WAS EVEN HUNG UP ON TWICE BY THE RESERVATIONS MANAGER . I wouldn't have given them even 1 star but it's required to...
