I came to the restaurant with my mom and my boyfriend. We came with high expectations for the extremely high price tag of the food; we wanted to afford one nice out while we were in Vegas.
This was NOT the right place.
Edit: I would also like to add our waiter was really weird, and kept fist bumping us when we ordered something. It was super uncomfortable.
Overall, the food wasn’t great. The fried mozzarella was good, and it’s clear the Caesar dressing is homemade. That’s where any positivity ends.
The chicken parm was just okay, and small for the price tag. The roasted chicken dish I had was WAY too salty, the vegetables were undercooked, and I barely ate half. My boyfriend got the pizza, and said it was okay.
Our waiter (Michael) never checked on us during the meal, and was pretty much a ghost. My boyfriend ordered a drink and was never offered another one. I had said I wanted water for now, but was never offered to order a drink. Basically once we got our food order in, our waiter didn’t exist anymore. Our waters sat empty for AN HOUR, and wasn’t even filled when I got my dessert. I honestly only stayed for dessert because I had ordered the 3 course meal, but we were already stuck in the restaurant for over an hour before it came. Our dishes sat on the table for ages when we finished our dinners with no waiter or bus person in sight.
I got the tiramisu, and it was literally a bowl of whipped cream with maybe 3 or 4 DRY lady fingers in it. There was ZERO taste of coffee. It was absolutely horrible, and I only ate a few bites before feeling sick from just having whipped cream. The worst dessert I have ever had. Our waiter didn’t even ask about it, he just dropped the check and ran.
When he dropped the check after charging, he didn’t say anything to us, not “have a nice night” or “hope you enjoyed your meal,” absolutely nothing. Just dropped the check and walked off.
Do not waste your money here, absolutely...
Read moreI am giving this a 3 star review for only two reasons.
Basically the food and the atmosphere is wonderful. Our server was delightful. And the prices are not horrible compared to other Vegas restaurants.
However, we dined there on Saturday, June 10, 2023 before attending Barry Manilow’s show. Our reservation was for 5:15pm which should have been plenty of time to eat and walk the 2 mins over to the theater for the show. But it seems the hostess that evening was deftly inexperienced as she seemed to seat dozens of groups of patrons all at the same time. This left the kitchen in a terrible mess as everyone’s tickets went in at the same time. For example, we received our drinks and appetizers promptly. But then we did not get our salads or soups for another 30 mins after that. We did not receive our main courses until almost 6:30, which barely gave us time to quickly eat and ask for the desserts and the check at the time the dinner was served. We felt terrible for the kitchen and wait staff. They seemed completely crazed with no control over the situation. The manager running the line seemed to be pulling his hair out and we did see him speak to the hostess twice during all of this fiasco. It just goes to show how one hostess filling every seat in the restaurant immediately can put a nice restaurant into complete disarray and into such a deep hole that I am sure they never recovered from the whole evening. Very sad. We barely made it to our show on time and I am sure we were not the only customers inconvenienced.
My only other comment is about the chicken dinner we ordered. The Pollo Arrosto had such potential. However, the chicken pieces were far too large and thick. This would have been a better dish had the chicken been pounded out first. Having to chew through big pieces of chicken made the dish...
Read moreWhat a hidden gem! We had never been to Westgate before but were there for a couple of seats during March madness. Started looking for a place to eat dinner and this place sounded great. My husband used to manage an Italian restaurant in Chicago, therefore had an appreciation for a robust but simple menu. One thing you need to know is the focaccia bread has come from the bread heavens. First off it’s warm. Second, it is the lightest, fluffiest bread with a light crunchiness on the out, it was ridiculously perfect. The pic does not do it justice. For an app we ordered the charcuterie - you need this in your life. The basil infused oil puddled inside of the ricotta salata was such a brilliant pairing, as well as everything else on the board. Figs aren’t too sweet, tomatoes perfectly cooked with a slight char, sprinkled with a balsamic. Now, side note: the focaccia is good with this too! I ordered a simple minestrone and it was just what I was looking for to sooth my belly after a rough night. You can see the flavor of the broth on the surface, it was just what I needed. My husband ordered the butternut squash raviolis, and wow, the dish is incredible. First, it’s not a massive bowl of pasta. There were maybe 10 medium sized raviolis in the most decadent sauce. The best way to describe it is an Alfredo with garlic, parm, citrus notes somewhere along with the sage and sweetness of the squash all together paired perfectly. We each had a beverage from the bar as well, which are decently priced, $15ish for each. We spent around $100, w/o tip. Would definitely return here and to Westgate. Westgate may not have fancy chandeliers so they’re not as much to look at, but they have more valuable higher quality food options that we haven’t necessarily found elsewhere at this point during our...
