We always stop in here when downtown. My boys like most boys like ice cream and they, have a nice variety. The shop reminisces from Winter Garden of old. Has that old citrus town feel. Service is fast and the place is clean. Pricing will seem to cost more than others. However, to be able to have that old town feeling while cooling off is worth it extra cents.
We started at four stars, since downgraded to one star (service only), is for what seems like a lack of enthusiasm for service. Full disclosure. I do not eat ice cream but, I observed the service factor with my wife and boys during every visit. Just seems to be lacking, Not a show stopper (Update: after the last visit. It is now a show stopper!)
Update: I and the boys stopped in again on the evening of March 26, 2018. As I stated earlier. I do not eat ice cream. However, the boys do and happen to love this place. Again, by pure observations, the staff is not very friendly . . . at least not that I have been able to observe regarding the interaction with my boys. They tend to favor certain people more than others. I understand this behavior and unfortunately my boys do not...yet!
After the last experience. I am going to downgrade the rating. Before the hate! Understand that I am not on here to bash any business. We like the ice cream, but not the customer service. This is an unbiased review based on my continued experience and observation. My objective is in fact to support businesses, especially small businesses. My observations from day one have been pretty consistent regarding the customer experience and not the product (Ice Cream).
I do not feel like I have to patronize this business until I see an improvement in the customer experience. Until then, I cannot in good conscience recommend this place to any person of color at this time. They have demonstrated time and time again, that they donât value our time,...
Read moreI recently took my daughter and nieces to Scoops for a fun treat, and we had such a great experience. One of my nieces was recently diagnosed with a dairy sensitivity, and I was so relieved to see that Scoops offers several non-dairy and allergy-friendly options.
She ended up choosing their seasonal Rainbow Popsicle, a colorful, fruity non-dairy option that she absolutely loved. It allowed her to feel included and excited to be part of the experience, which meant a lot to all of us.
Weâve read some reviews mentioning that people felt rushed, but we actually had the opposite experience. We didnât feel hurried at all. I had the chance to chat with one of the owners, who was friendly and took the time to meet my nieces and make us feel welcome. That personal touch made the experience even better.
Scoops had been an old favorite, and even under new management, it still holds up! The rest of us tried a mix of their classic and seasonal flavors, and everything was fresh, creamy, and full of flavor. The atmosphere was cheerful, clean, and perfect for a family outing. Itâs clear they care about this community and making sure everyone has something they can enjoy.
Weâll definitely be back to make more memories. If you have the opportunity, I would encourage you to...
Read moreI am very disappointed with scoops. Not because of the ice cream. The ice cream is really great but the customer service really sucks. I brought me & my family 3 weeks in a row to get ice cream only to be turned away. I just left there and I got here at 8:25 & there was a young girl at the end of the line that said we couldn't get in line because they close at 8:45. But we were there by 8:25. I explained to her that this was the 3rd week we've come and was turned away & we traveled a long way to get there and she totally didn't care and said she sorry but she's not letting no one in the line because they want to close on time at 8:45. I just think that was terrible and I really don't want to use the race card but we were the only African Americans there for 2 weeks in a row. I am a business owner and for the sake of keeping my customers happy, I may bend a little here and there but this young lady couldn't care less how far I traveled or that I was turned away 3 weeks in a row. Also I've worked in sales many years and I never heard of a business closing it's doors 20 min before their actual closing times. As much as I love the ice cream I don't think I will be...
