"Come as guests, and leave as friends." If I were to give Stay at Jimmy's a motto, this would be it. My wife and I spent a weekend in Woodstock to see the sights, do some shopping, and taste the local cuisine. Jimmy's charming home is ideally located, close to everything you'll want to see and experience. There's even a park across the road, leading you along the river. It's a bird watchers dream!
If you're into staying at cookie cutter, run of the mill motels, Jimmy's is NOT the place for you. But if you'd like to indulge yourself in a unique and quirky environment, painted with vibrant colors and decorated with mostly modern art, you've come to the right place. We stayed in the 177 sq ft CHILL-room, and chill we did! It happened to be Eurovision Song Contest day, and thanks to the included Apple TV we were able to watch the show from our comfy bed on a huge SONY flat screen TV (one of 2 TV's in the room). Bring your login info if you wish to take advantage of your streaming services. Otherwise, just watch YouTube or read that book you never finished.
While we were watching, we were sampling the freshly baked goods that were waiting for us in the room. Those were included in the rate, as were all the provided drinks, fruit, candy bars, snacks, and even cereal. Around the corner from our room there was an even greater display of snacks and stuff, should our supply run out. Apart from the potato chips it's all pretty sweet, so you may want to bring something hearty too. Coffee came from a Keurig machine in the room, and as decaf drinkers who tend to get short-changed, we appreciated the many decaf cups.
The bathroom and shower were sparkling clean (as were the rest of the accommodations), and our host had gone above and beyond to give us everything a guest could possibly wish for, including a rain shower I never knew I always wanted. By the way, there's also a lovely yoga/pilates/workout room on the premises. If that's your thing, you can book sessions with Jimmy himself who's also an instructor.
Speaking of Jimmy, he couldn't be more welcoming and personable. You'll get what I mean once you meet him. I think he was born to run a B & B.
Now that you've come to the end of my review, you may wonder if I got paid to be this positive. The answer is NO. I've traveled the world and have stayed at many, many places. I know when I've discovered a hidden gem. Stay at Jimmy's is one of those gems, and I dare you to find out for yourself why what I've written is true, and why so many guests have left a...

We spent a fun and relaxing 3 days in the “Relax” suite with our sweet husky. Hosts Jimmy and John were kind, caring, accommodating and made sure our stay was perfect!
The rooms were comfortable and clean with stunning eclectic art. We loved the muffins, croissants and breads upon arrival and the stocked fridge with waters and counter with coffees. They even had a mat with food and water bowls for our pooch.
The tub in the bathroom!!! Ahhh mazing! Oh - and the bath products from Whisper Hill? Loved them so much we stopped at their shop to purchase shampoos, lotions and more!
Location couldn’t be better! We did several hikes nearby. Mt Peg was walkable from Jimmy’s and we also did Faulkner trail at sunrise - both well kept trails with beautiful views and great for hiking with pups!
Dinner options are limited on Mondays and Tuesdays in Woodstock (along with “mud” and “stick” season being in November), but we did have a wonderful dinner Monday night at the 506 Bistro nearby.
Be sure to do yoga with Jimmy while you are there! My husband and I did the Yin Yoga when we arrived and it was a perfect way to wind down after a road trip. I did the Inferno Hot Pilates the next morning - a kick butt workout and fun!!!
Highly recommend! Our dog Halo loved it just as much…. maybe even more - she got to meet the “house” dogs Matilda and Conrad (she’s bummed Mabel, the cat, didn’t make an appearance...
Read moreWe have just met a friend in Woodstock and needed restful rooms in a congenial setting. What luck! Inside this charming village house is a brand-new, smart and well equipped interior. Jimmy and John are considerate hosts who built comfort and some urban flair into the spotless cheerful rooms. No worries you won’t find a hair dryer or iron or A/C. Each room’s kitchenette, bath, lav and tv are up to the moment. Modcoms in the right places, like touchscreen de-mist with cool-to-warm lighting settings on the bath mirror. The ample beds are comfortable with wall-mounted tables. Our fridge was stocked with juice, water, chocolate. Pastry including croissants awaited under glass. Not forgotten were an extra blanket in the dresser, Pete’s for the Keurig, tableware for a light meal, board games, good bath products, adjustable room lighting, even a lint roller for sweaters and rack for outdoor shoes. Outside a common area kitchenette is the landscaped and shaded wraparound porch for gathering. There is a yoga room, and all levels of classes with Jimmy can be reserved. We were lucky to meet the sweet resident pets. We were in Relax, a suite with jetted tub, large shower, sitting room and mini-kitchen/entryway. Our friend had Hangout, everything in one big room with nice shower and lav. We all had a very nice stay and look forward to...
