If your looking for a nice reasonable priced hotel on Cape Cod check out Cape Sands Inn. We were plenty surprised at how nice the hotel was for the price. The deluxe queen room with bay view was perfect. The indoor pool was the perfect temperature. #capecod #hotel #budgetfriendly

If you are not disabled, this could be a fair option to consider staying at, but I definitely can’t recommend it if you are. (For context, I am an ambulatory wheelchair user with a service dog.) The linens, bed, and room itself all seemed fairly clean. The entrance to the accessible room was step free with a curb cut and parking right in front. The room will only meet access needs if you are able to stand and walk for short periods of time. The shower bench/shelf was pretty small without space to comfortably transfer, and I couldn’t reach the shower head, controls, or soap when seated. All towel hooks, towel bars, and coat racks were unreachable when seated. The bed didn’t have ample room on the sides to fit a wheelchair, and was too high to transfer. There also isn’t room to roll under the sink/vanity due to a lower shelf. Now is the worse part: On the last day of our (3 full day, 4 night) stay, they knocked on our door and repeatedly asked for a certificate for my service dog, further stating that without a certificate he isn't a service animal. When my partner and I told them that there is no federal requirement for service animal certification of any kind, they doubled down and said that every other person they had who stayed with a service animal had a certificate for them. We reiterated that there is no legitimate documentation for a service animal in the U.S., but they made my partner come to the office after accusing us of not disclosing my service dog when we checked in. We had checked in after the office was closed using their lock boxes where they place room cards. We booked through booking .com where I disclosed that there would be two adults and one service dog in the room. At the office, they had my partner fill out a form with the only two legally permitted questions to ask a service animal owner, which they had not informed us of at any point prior to this. Their tone and phrasing were accusatory and gave the impression they thought we had malicious intent instead of just asking if he was a service dog and if we had filled out a form at check-in. Overall, I would avoid staying here if you are disabled, especially with a service animal.

Not a bad strip motel. We stayed for 4 nights. The room was pretty clean, they came and cleaned and made the bed each morning. We paid a little extra for a room with a back patio door, that you can hang out on, or you can just walk straight to a larger patio with a large fire pit and chairs. There is also a nice view of a little creek too. Only had a few issues. Their was a dumpster located not too far away from the room that was being blown in the wind all night (just on one of the nights when it rained). Which led to the lid banging all night loudly. There isn't any 'do not disturb' signs to indicate if you are in the room, to let room service know. So 2 mornings we were woken up by knocks around 9am. And another where they came much later after we had been out of the room for a few hours already, and we came back to shower and change before heading back out again, in which they knocked again around 11am. It wasn't a big deal, but it almost started to feel comical. And then the day before we left, I think they got fed up and decided to not clean out room at all (which we were fine with). None of these issues are deal breakers with us though. It was nice and clean, with a good price, in a central location. Would stay there again.

This inn feels more like a motel, with that being said I gave it 3 stars because it is not 4 or 5 star worthy. However, it is a very very nice place if you’re just looking for something cheap, clean, has an indoor/outdoor pool with a hot tub, and has breakfast in the morning. The breakfast was just cereal, toast, waffles, orange juice and milk. Nothing fancy, but it got the job done. The rooms were very very clean!!!! We were terrified of bed bugs going to a new place that we had never been to but there were absolutely no bugs whatsoever. Brand new shower curtains and beds. The bathroom was clean. We have a family of four with two children one 4 and one 15. The room was a double standard with no view to the water and we were okay with that. If you’re not planning on spending a lot of time in your room then this is perfect because it’s inexpensive but still decent. We weren’t packed in the room with a family of four. I would say that the room could fit five but anything more would be too much in one of these rooms. There was a smaller flat screen tv, a little coffee maker, and a mini fridge. The WiFi worked well for us, I brought my laptop to work on some schoolwork and it was decent. The pool area was very clean too. The hot tub wasn’t as hot as we would have liked it the first night we were there then the second night the maintenance man said he replaced the computer board and it was really hot after that. I also want to stress how friendly the staff was during our stay. The front desk people were very helpful and would go above and beyond to answer questions we had about the area. The maintenance man was incredibly friendly, was always working really hard, and at one point he brought us more coffee/toilet paper for our room after we called the front desk. The maids were also incredibly friendly. We had no issues with anything going missing. All around kind, friendly, hardworking people at this inn. Also, my boyfriend had heard from someone that they have been taken over by a new owner, so they are making drastic changes so that the place is much nicer. I would assume within a couple of years, there will be better amenities. Really the only two complaints that I have was that the door was hard to shut all the way. We had to slam and tug on the door a few times to see if it was shut all the way. The door would look shut but wasn’t completely closed. It was room 139. Also, the air conditioning really did not work well. It got really stuffy in the middle of the night while we slept. This did not ruin my view on the inn but those rooms need new air conditioning units for sure. Some things are dated but you can tell they are working towards bringing it up to date.

Staying in West Yarmouth and Hyannis there honestly wasn’t much to do and the weather was really chilly. It’s also a really expensive tourist area, very ritzy in the downtown area. The places to eat were pricey. The driving in MA is insane! We stayed four days, traveled to Plymouth and Salem. Since we knew we wouldn’t be in the room much this place was perfect for us. I would recommend it to families and people who want to stay while they are out site seeing.

If you’re looking for a cheap place to stay that hits all the spots, this is the...

From the beginning to the end, our hosts at the Cape Sands Inn played a huge role in this stay being one of the best we've ever experienced in coming to Cape Cod on vacation for decades.

The cottage we would normally stay in on the Cape with our family was being used for the weekend we wanted to stay, so we looked for a high-rated, lower-cost alternative in the sparsely available motels a couple months before our visit. The Cape Sands stood out among them all as one of the best rated for cleanliness and convenience, and it was perfectly situated to travel to all areas of the Cape with ease.

We booked three rooms for our family. I arrived first and early to do the setup, but too early to enter the rooms, which were still being cleaned. I appreciated the flurry of activity among the housekeeping staff all across the property. The front desk even allowed me to check in early, even though I wasn't able to get my keys yet, I was issued all the parking passes for our cars. I was invited to enjoy the pools until my rooms were prepared. The front office staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating the entire week.

Upon being given access to our rooms, I met our housekeeper finishing up some other rooms on our floor. I immediately provided her with a generous tip for the entire week's stay, and asked her to take care of us (Yes, I believe that tipping well and tipping early encourages and ensures better and more attentive service). She treated us like family all week long, with friendly smiles, waving, and we were never short on clean towels and a freshly made bed! I wish I had collected her name, I would have given her a shout out here...but she made our stay even more special.

The rooms were more than you would expect for the price. Of the three (a standard king, a king suite, and a bay-view double queen), the standard king was simple and average, the suite was incredibly spacious, and the view of the inlet by the harbor in the double queen was stunningly Cape Cod. All three rooms were clean and tidy, and though it was obvious they had some age and use, they were well cared-for and exceptionally comfortable, especially the beds. The hot water was hot...though we did lose water pressure during one shower in one room.

Swimming in the pools was not a big item on our vacation list, but we did go once and both pool areas were clean and well maintained. The hot tub, unfortunately, was not hot and did not have any power in the jets. I would recommend a fix on this, if they wish to invest in ! betterment of the property, because it would have been a great way to unwind after the longer days of tourism, especially for the adults. A little disappointed in that one aspect, but there is SO much else to do that it hardly mattered.

We may well change our standard cottage rental to regularly staying at Cape Sands. Thank you so much for making the "home" part of our visit such a pleasant and worry-free experience. You folks are the absolute best! You don't have to be a five-star hotel to offer a five-star...

Found this motel on Priceline & I liked the price. I booked direct though, because the owners give a lower rate than going through a discount booking site. (a big plus!)

Was very easy to access from Route 6 (Mid-Cape Highway) & only about 3 & 1/2 miles. From Exit #7 it's a quick right and a left to get down to Main Street (MA-28) & then the motel's just about 1/4 mile to the left.

Only about a mile & a half from Hyannis which has a great little downtown area with bars restaurants & shops includng a waterfront area. Sightseeng & fshng tours are available as well as ferries to other local towns & Martha's Vineyard / Nantucket. Also the JFK Museum is in downtown, too.

Plenty of good restaurants & breakfast spots just a short drive away (within 5 miles).

Beaches nearby along the south shore of the Cape although parking always seems to cost around $15 for the day. But we spent Saturday in the town of Chatham (another great place to walk / shop / eat) and found free parking at Keegan Lighthouse Beach across the street from the Chatham Lighthouse. Scenic town & the beutful area around Chatham is just about 20-25 miles from West Yarmouth. Continue north if you'd like to explore Provincetown & other Atlantic Ocean beaches.

Even though we only stayed the weekend we were able to get alot done in a short time because the motel's location made it easy to take in many different things. Didn't make it out on the water, but in nearby Barnstable you'll find Hyannis Whale Watchers (motel has their brochures at the lobby desk).

And Sunday after chec-out and a quc brunch we enjoyed some mini-golf. There are quite a few mini-golf courses near the motel even within walking distance. But we found a great place on the drive back towards the motel to get to the highway heading home.

Skull Island at Bass River Sports has plenty of other activities also . . . Softball batting cages, an arcade, and a go-cart track (which we tried after golf). Plus an ice cream stand is on the premises, too.

Overall the Cape Sands Inn is just your basic motel. But we found the rooms & the property in genral to be very clean. Beds were extremely comfortable!

There are both outdoor & indoor pools. There was a jacuzzi too, but that was closed due to CoVid-19 restrictions. They also have a small game room by the indoor pool as well.

We were in the west wing, but there are rooms available in other parts of the motel with a view toward the bay, or the small river next to the motel, but limited availability.

All-in-all, it was a great value for what we got out of our...
