A bit of a mixed review, but as a friendly person and former waitress myself, I tend to pick up on these things. We ordered for pick up, people weren't the friendliest-- I got a few weird looks from the staff at the front and I noticed they were smiling and talking another couple in front of me but as soon as the couple left, they instantly turned antisocial and pretty much ignored me 😂 I said "hello, how are you?" and approached the register and they barely looked up--the lady started to try and make herself look busy wiping down the counter and the other lady wondered off. Anyhow, after them not acknowledging me standing there, I finally was like well I'm here to pick up, and told them my name and they brought it out quick. I said thank you so much, have a great day! They didn't even acknowledge and once again pretended to find things to do (ie: fidgeting with menus) to look busy. Weird vibe. Anyhow, 3 stars for service because food was ready very quickly, no wait- but I am glad we ordered food to take out as opposed to eating there. Would have been a whole mood actually dining there 😂 I hope their waitstaff is friendlier than the hosts!
We ordered the trio-- fettuccine alfredo was the star! So delicious! The meatballs were good too, but the chicken parm was a total let down. Chicken was still slightly pink-- and kinda tasteless. The sauce and cheese on it were ok, but wasn't enough to balance out the undercooked and flavorless chicken. Was a total waste-- we ate one bite and threw the rest out. Cheesy bread was delicious!! Not worth $12 we spent on it (prices def a bit inflated for just bread with mozz cheese) but probably was the highlight of the meal. Not sure we'll be ordering from them again, but for anyone else looking to order--I'd say probably best to order the fettuccine alfredo and hold off on...
Read moreUpon walking in a restaurant we go to every year on vacation the first thing was the smell. Couldn't put my finger on it but I think it reminded me of a dirty mop. As we settled in our booth with 5 people and 3 teen boys I forgot about the smell. We ordered personalized pizzas they were good mine was a margarita which is my fav. It was tasty but I didn't care for mozzarella balks on top. Looked liked mini marshmallows. I would have liked them melted. No problem it was still good. I got a Miller Lite and asked server for a glass. Poured my beer in and raised it to my mouth and ugh the smell. Could it be a water problem? Idk. I literally couldn't drink my beer due to the smell of the glass. My daughter and I had clam chowder to start. I get it we are in an Italian restaurant but not a clam to be seen. It was potato soup and it was tasty but no clams I used the restaurant bathroom before heading off to mini golf. What the heck is coming out of the grate in the ladies room? Reminded me of that foam in a can that hardens after you spray it. Maybe something happened prior to opening that day? Idk but the smell was not Italian food cooking. Last time we got garlic knots too. But we got pizzas instead of Italian food maybe that's why. We did get rolls because one teen got spaghetti and meatballs. They were tasty and garlicky. It could have been an off time. I'll definitely go next year. We went early. Server was very kind...
Read moreTerrible service. Placed an order through an app as I've done dozens of times before. Turns out they no longer deal with this app. Okay, no problem, but I'm waiting an hour to find this out, and when I call I'm told, of course, no order has been placed we dropped the app. But worse yet, it's my fault, cause I used the app?
And their response... wholly indifferent to the problem, and they're answer is, not our fault... you used the app. And now it's another hour for delivery... would you like to place an order now?
Sure, but why didn't you send me an email and let me know Chownow was no longer valid? And BTW, I just used the app three days ago. So I ask what can you do for me? Expecting some apology, some understanding THEY have a problem .., I'm waiting an hour already for NOTHING.!! Instead, I get somebody wholly indifferent telling me it's my fault for using the app.
Spent a FAIR amount of money there over the years. And their sister restaurant Yarmouth House too. Never again. It's not my fault you moved away from the app. And to act like it was and act like nothing was wrong... I don't think so. I won't go back. That...
