Mill Hill has the best caring staff from the most experience activities director☝️ and her staff, ⭐️excellent caring nurses, most caring RA’s 😊, housekeeping, culinary dining staff, front lobby staff, Floor Director Joan and a very caring director Joanna and marketing person Pam.

Our mom is so happy everyone knows her name and always comes up and interacts with her. Her apartment we were able to make it just like her home with all her favorite items. The activities director Suzie is unbelievable with her interactions not just with our mom but all the Residence. She knows how to get the the residence all involved with her and the great activities. Suzie is the best with Nancy and Suzies other staff members. Suzie you are on all day and your energy spills over to making a huge difference in our moms daily life. To the director of nursing and all shifts for nursing thank you ! You make a huge difference for the residence and our mom plus you assist us family members to understand all areas of care. The entire Nursing Staff is so approachable and want to understand our needs to assist our mom. They always come in her apartment with a smile and interacts asking how she is. Thank you and much appreciation to all the nurses. The RA’s and I mean all the RA’s are very special people they are so interactive with our mom and always makes her happy when they assist her. It would be a hard to mention all by name because they all play such a special role. You make the biggest difference RA’s to help make the residence feel so safe. You are the back bone and our families eyes when we are not their so thank you so much ! Tootie the director of culinary does a excellent job . The dining area looks like a restaurant. Tootsie and her staff are very approachable very social with all the residence. They know the residence by name and I find my mom going and talking to them at the counter. The food is a 5 ⭐️ . All front lobby staff when you first come into the lobby you are the greeters with a smile and assist us as family member to navigate and ask all questions and what to do ! Thank you for all you do! Pam Director of Marketing and Joanna Director were the first we meant and toured us and continue to be very approachable and caring thank you ! Our mom knows you and you always make her day !

Maplewood at Mill Hill has completely turned our Mom’s life around. She has lived there now for nearly a year. When our dad passed Mom insisted on staying at home for several years. We took care of her and had professional services she needed provided at her home, but it resulted in her declining health and mental status. Even when we had 24-hour care it got to a point where she was constantly having UTIs, staying in bed almost all of the time, not eating well, was a high risk of falling, and in a state of dementia. I was constantly taking her to stressful doctor appointments. After a long and difficult emergency visit to the hospital I was able to get her into a skilled nursing facility, but it was evident she needed something more long-term. The staff at Mill Hill quickly and capably admitted her to the memory care unit and provided a lovely and comfortable environment, improved her overall health and nutrition, provided excellent medical services and medication management, pleasant daily social activities, and even things like hairdressing and pedicure services as needed. The improvement is so remarkable that she has “graduated” out of memory care and moved to assisted living, where she enjoys her independence. The facility is beautiful and well maintained. There are frequent events held which include family members, plus live entertainment, arts and games, exercise, and bus trips for the residents to get them out together. The staff is caring and constantly monitoring all residents. The concierge greeters are welcoming and amazing. Mom is much more coherent, has gained mobility, and looks forward to enjoying her time with new friends daily. We could not have made a better decision. The surprising fact is that it actually costs less for her to live there than it did to live at home and bring in all the services she needed. Watching the staff interact with my mom and other residents at Mill Hill gives me such comfort and confidence that my mom is living at the best location she could be. My mom's one room apartment is located on the second floor, which is the Tides level of care. She's been a resident since Jan 2021. The Activities director and associates use humor and warmth to engage my mom and other residents in the daily range of activities, which is key to her enjoyment of living at Mill Hill. I've joined in on some activities when visiting, and am impressed with residents who choose to work 2 bingo cards and help their neighbors. My mom and the friends she's made enjoy the chair exercise class each morning which I've also joined when visiting, and they all enjoy the special celebrations with music and food for all sorts of interesting holidays. The weekly Mill Hill van outings are fun and safe and my mom enjoys getting out and about to see different spots on the Cape with her Mill Hill friends. There is a daily post lunch walk, outside on the paved nature path when weather permits, or inside.The building itself is new and fresh and has a great floorpan so there are many sitting areas and places to stroll to after lunch, or with her friends without getting lost. The wellness staff is gentle and helpful with administering daily medications. There is a visiting dentist and podiatrist and doctor/RN who come to Mill Hill regularly and my mom takes advantage of the regular dental care, foot care, and regular wellness visits. The Mill Hill salon is another convenience and my mom gets regular haircuts. There is weekly housecleaning of her apartment and all her laundry is taken care of. The Executive Director is excellent with her communication to the families, sending group email updates to keep us informed about upcoming holiday arrangements, flu/Covid shot clinics, and any info we need to know.
