Well let's see...we reserved a 2 queen bed with pull out sofa suite for my daughter's 12th bday party. She wanted to stay at a hotel with an indoor pool so she could swim and have fun. We chose this place as it was next to where she wanted to eat. We checked in and went to the only room available because according to the day clerk...rooms were not cleaned yet because no one wants to work. Okay...believable. We go to room 310 and get everything set up and ready to go and have our little party and eat cake. We get finished and everyone puts on swimming stuff to go enjoy the "heated" pool. Get down there and the water was freezing cold...so much so that the hot tub in the pool area was packed full of other guests because the pool water was so cold. So we couldn't swim although the kids tried. I went outside near the pool area to smoke and was locked out because the card reader wouldn't work. Thankfully someone came out and opened the door for me. I told the day clerk who could only complain about people proving the door open and made sure I knew they couldn't have that...did it anyways. Also noticed the bathroom countertop and piece of sharp metal laying outside by the pool room on the ground. Construction debris always makes for great scenery at a hotel. We decide to go eat and come back and go to the room for a bit where I noticed the covers on the ceiling where the fire sprinklers go (firefighters tend to notice little things like that). Ok no huge deal as the hotel construction is usually pretty fire resistant and has several escapes. We go back to try to swim again and still ice cold with a packed hot tub. We decide not to swim and just stay the night so we go back to our room. I went to go soak in the jacuzzi tub advertised in every suite...regular tub. I called the night clerk and asked why all this stuff was wrong and what could be done to fix it. Our option was to stay and pay a discounted rate of around $100 or we could leave and cancel our reservation at no cost. We chose the ladder and left. As a rewards member I decided to call IHG to inform them of the horrible experience and their solution was offering me 10k points...not enough for a free stay. I called another hotel by Hilton and although they had no rooms available they did offer to let us come swimming free of charge. I declined the offer but made sure they knew how grateful I was for the offer. I'll be switching hotel chains to Hilton from today on. My advice is to stay somewhere else. Hilton may be a little more but it's sure worth it for...
Read moreWhen planning our New Years' activities we specifically looked for a hotel with a HEATED swimming pool and a room with a jacuzzi tub. I even CALLED the hotel before booking to ENSURE that the room I was booking was exactly what was advertised online AS WELL as that the pool was heated. To which I was ASSURED THAT ALL WAS.
Well, there was no jacuzzi tub in front of a fireplace and when we asked to switch to a regular king room we were told the hotel was sold out and we could not. So we basically were stuck staying in and paying for the "Presidential Suite" that was NOT what was advertised nor what we wanted.
You would think that we would have been cozy in front of the fireplace and just made due but the fireplace was really only decoration as there was real heat blowing off of it which was disappointing as well.
When we went down to use the pool...we discovered that the pool was NOT in fact heated and was VERY cold. We were able to sit in the hot tub and even tried to use the sauna that was in the pool area. Imagine our disappointment when we could not get it to work. Imagine my annoyance when we went to inform the front desk and learned that it was already known and had been for some time. I guess an "out of order" sign was too much to ask.
The icing on the cake of the weekend is that it snowed and there was a lot of ice. You would think that a property like IHG would have had a plow truck come through and clear the parking lot right? No, in the 3 days that we stayed there the parking lot was NEVER plowed. Very grateful we didn't slip or fall as I doubt anyone there would have cared.
The hotel itself was basically clean. Our room was clean enough until you sat on the toilet seat and looked over at the dirt under the sink (in the Presidential suite no less). All in all, this hotel did NOT impress me.
The only positive thing that I could really say is that the hotel staff for the most part was...
Read moreThis is our "go to" place when we come to the Yukon/Mustang/West Oklahoma City area. We've stayed at this motel five times in the past year and love the location. There are good restaurants near the motel, a movie theater, and about a 10 minute drive away are several shopping centers and additional restaurants. For things to do: The OKC Thunder play in downtown OKC, at the Chesapeake Energy Arena, which is about 20 minutes away. In addition to basketball, there are concerts and other sporting events at the Chesapeake Arena. If you like playing the slots, there are two or three casinos within about a half hour drive This hotel is easy to get too, less expensive than staying in downtown OKC, and convenient for shopping and dining.
The hotel staff are friendly and professional and have a good knowledge of the area. The hotel is clean, and the rooms comfortable and quiet, even though the interstate is less than 150 yards away. We didn't eat the breakfast, as we had out grandchildren for the weekend and they have other breakfast areas they like near the motel. The only complaint, and this is a personal preference, are the pillows are too soft. We will be staying at this location again and would recommend it to anyone staying in the...
