I’ve stayed at this Hotel once before this day and I remember that it was a pleasant day and that I was charged exactly what they said then I got there and there was no issues.
So when I was around the area again, I thought it would be a nice place to stay. I’m already familiar with the property and perhaps a couple of the people that I met working there the first time might still be there, so I’m not sure if it was the same or not but I can assure you it was a much different experience.
I was on a long drive back from Missouri and I was driving in the back roads of Dunellen Florida and they were no hotels there so I looked at hotels tonight, which usually has good prices and I saw that hotel and like I said, I remember staying there before.
I called the front desk as it was like 2 AM in the morning just to ensure they were still open and that they had rooms available. On the app hotels tonight it showed the price at $68. When I called the lady was very friendly and said “I’ll take care of you“ after I said what the price stated as I cleared that up I said I’ve stayed there before. I’m sure it’ll be a great stay.
When I got there, she of course, just looked at my phone and didn’t even want me to go through hotels tonight because of course no hotel does and she said that no problem that tax included and I could tell by looking at the parking lot that was relatively empty.
So I said OK. It was just me no pets. I didn’t cause any disturbances the next morning I still was not ready to finish my travel so I said I’ll stay another night and they said we’ll give you the exact same price I said OK great. I then decided to stay one more night and they told me it would be just $10 more due to it being a weekend so I finished my stay there. I gave them my card obviously on the first night I checked out and I finished my trip.
A couple days later to my other dismay and surprise I saw a charge on my bank account for approximately $300 when nothing in the room was used. I even cleaned it up mostly myself.
I called the hotel and I expressed my concern not only was there approximately a $300 charge. It was like 298 and change but also another $97 hold which I had no idea what that was for and neither did the front desk.
I even pulled up Hotel Tonight on my phone again for that night and saw that had only gone up four dollars making it $72 per night after I was already gone. So when I was told there was no extra charges for anything and that this was simply the cost , I told them about the conversation I had with the lady on the first night and she said taxes included.
So not only were they extremely un receptive to my concerns, but they called the lady who I spoke with and she blatantly denied the conversation I was told I would get the paperwork through an email. I did not receive that email , I can’t say anything bad about the hotel in general, but what I can say is that being lied to directly about a price and then the management having zero concern over fixing it or getting to the bottom of the situation was extremely disheartening.
Now Some might call me naïve for not looking at the supposed paperwork and making sure it said what she said but I was never provided the documentation that said it was over $100 more than what I was told besides like I said I had stayed here before with no issues I was never even called back I still have not had the $98 in extra fees removed from my credit card alongside the extra almost hundred dollars for the three nights and I will not be staying at this hotel again.
So my point in writing this review is not only about this hotel but when you’re traveling, make sure you look at everything closely because peoples words aren’t what they once were and they certainly aren’t at this hotel just to be clear. I have zero complaints about the hotel besides this incident regarding the financials and how they handled it when I brought it to their attention hopefully this helps a few people out thanks as always...
Read moreHaven’t stayed yet but Vanessa R at the front desk was so helpful and had great customer service in assisting to make our upcoming reservation a much more comfortable stay. Thanks Vanessa for the attention and care you give to the guests! Will update with more details after an actual check in! UPDATE: Do not hesitate to come to this hotel. It’s clean, (I check for bed bugs, clean sheets, towels, appliances, and the shower especially. And it exceeded all expectations), the staff is so friendly any time we had an issue whoever we needed whether it be housekeeping for new towels or sheets or trash or front desk with card issues we were 100% taken care of. The location is just as amazing. Close enough to the city for ease of access to whatever you need but far enough that it’s not noisy or sketchy. It’s right next to ruby tuesdays so you can take 5 steps next door for a bite or take advantage of the full bar and be safe to get back to your room without ever having to get into a vehicle. Walmart is within walking distance too if you need anything. Theres a strip behind the hotel that I didn’t really explore but I saw other food options and things like a nail salon. We packed the car with our luggage and valuables the night before and had no issues with guests or staff or break ins. Breakfast is offered but we didn’t take advantage of it so I can’t comment on it really. There is a pool here as well. We also didn’t swim here because we didn’t spend much time during the day here but it looks nice and clean. The do offer only queen beds even in the single rooms but that wasn’t a problem for us. And overall the most convenient thing is that they accept dogs for a fee and the grounds outside are clean. If you want a break from the pooch, there is a boarding facility we used that offers 48 dollar boarding where your dog is posted daily and consistently on a private fb page and interacts with other dogs through the stay in small areas while safely being held in a small room at night alone. They also offer just doggy daycare during the day if you want to just take the day to do things without having to worry about your fur child. The people around town are friendly and overall this was a GREAT experience. It all starts with the place you lay your head and wake up. 100% hands down, we will be back. Don’t even second guess...
Read moreWe lost EVERYTHING in hurricane Helene. FEMA sent us a list of hotels too go to. A few said " You have to come now" which was impossible. We called Microtel in Zephyrhills and they had room. It was to be according to FEMA for 30 days. We then were told by manager we were there from October 11th I believe and FEMA was paying until January 17th. We began a house search immediately. Our stay at this hotel was just perfect such nice friendly employees always happy always smiling always said hello. Now let's review individual departments Housekeeping: Absolutely fabulous we didn't ask them to clean daily the hotel was full all FEMA who lost everything In either HELENE or Milton. They were requesting we leave our rooms on Wednesday and Sunday for housekeeping to clean. We left some cash & a note. The women maybe could not read English because she didn't take the $. I had dropped one of my pills she put it on night stand . So very very trustworthy women. Can't say enough good things about them.Thank you so much all so sweet.
Front desk / lobby. Manager was extremely helpful friendly and accommodating. All of the clerks went above and beyond for guests.
Free Breakfast: extremely good. Make your own pancakes bagels, and coffee / tea etc available day/ night. Very clean area. Again above and beyond. Thank you all so so much. Having Halloween party for kids offering Thanksgiving meal for all staying with them. Was so nice. We stayed in room 317 for about a week, then moved to a handicapped room #104 as we requested due to my dislocating my titanium left hip 3 days after hurricane. Nicest staff we have ever seen in a Hotel. Thanks again you all do amazing work keeping it so clean being so friendly in a time we all were going through devastating situations, the friendly staff eased the hurt. We were blessed to find a new home in Zephyrhills and checked out November 9th. Hugs Ken &...
