As a father of two, I recently had the pleasure of staying at Nanosh East Hotel with my family during our visit to Bukhara, which had been a highly anticipated part of our trip to Uzbekistan. We booked this hotel 2-3 months in advance, drawn by its promising location in a vibrant neighborhood and the enticing terrace view. However, our experience fell somewhat short of expectations due to a few significant issues.
The hotel is conveniently located, providing easy access to major attractions. Our room was clean and comfortable, making it an ideal base for exploring the city. Nevertheless, our stay was marred by a couple of interactions that left us feeling unwelcome, particularly regarding how the hotel accommodates families with young children.
On our first night, after a long day of travel, I received an SMS at 2 AM about the noise my 3-year-old made while we opened the door to fetch some water. While I understand the importance of maintaining a peaceful environment, the nature of the message felt excessive for what was a brief and typical noise from a young child. Moreover, the same staff member who sent the message had previously addressed my child with a “shush” while delivering water, which created a rather awkward atmosphere. This experience made me hesitant to take my youngest to breakfast or enjoy the terrace, as I worried about how our family might be perceived in public spaces.
Additionally, despite my efforts to request an extra bed for my child through emails and booking notes, this was overlooked until I followed up in person. The absence of an extra bed contributed to my 3-year-old feeling unsettled during our stay, which made our first night particularly challenging.
That said, I must commend the local community, which was warm and welcoming. The nearby mosque and the friendly locals we encountered truly enriched our experience, showing genuine kindness towards us and our children.
In conclusion, while Nanosh East Hotel has much to offer in terms of location and cleanliness, I would kindly suggest that the staff enhance their communication and understanding towards families. A more accommodating approach would greatly benefit guests with children, creating a more welcoming environment.
Despite the challenges we faced, we cherished our time in Bukhara and appreciated the charm of the local culture. For families considering this hotel, I recommend confirming any special requests ahead of time and being prepared for the...

We had a wonderful stay at Nanosh East Hotel! The room was impeccably clean, well-lit, and extremely comfortable, making it easy to relax. The location is excellent, putting us close to everything we needed.
A standout aspect of our stay was the owner, who was truly a gem. Despite our late arrival at midnight, he came to pick us up himself, going above and beyond to make sure we felt welcome. He even provided an extra mattress for our child without us having to request it. This level of care and hospitality made our experience truly memorable. Highly recommend...
Read moreThe hotel has a great location, very close to the historic center of Bukhara. Our room was very big (we had the triple room) and clean. Furthermore, the hotel has a great terrace on the roof, with a fantastic view over the old town. The breakfast was okayish, but not great. The ladies at the reception were very friendly. However, every time we passed the reception, they tried to sell us a service (Hamam, massage, excusions, guided tourr, you name it). It's nice to suggest these options at the beginning of the stay, but it was a bit too much to bring these services up every time we pass the...
