Of course. Here is a review for Google Maps written from the perspective A Survivor's Stance: History Stands Proud in the Heart of Bukhara Visited here today and was completely awestruck. No picture can prepare you for the presence of the Kalan Minaret in real life. It’s not just a beautiful tower; it feels like a silent, stoic guardian of history. You can’t help but feel the weight of centuries looking up at it. I stood there thinking about how brutal rulers and empires came through this very city, razing much of it to the ground. Yet, this magnificent minaret endured. It’s a powerful testament to resilience. History isn't just written in books here; it's baked into every brick and stands proudly, still, in the heart of Bukhara. The entire Po-i-Kalyan complex around it is breathtaking. The vast courtyard of the mosque and the intricate madrasa create a perfect frame for the minaret. It’s a truly humbling and unforgettable experience. A must visit for anyone coming to Uzbekistan. Don't just snap a photo take a moment to appreciate the incredible story of survival you're witnessing. Tips: Visit in the late afternoon for the best light on the bricks or early morning when the shine and its still quite and empty of tourists And be sure to look up at the stunning decorative patterns!

Bukhara, An Ancient City, Oct - 23 After crossing the border from Turkmenistan I came to this ancient Silk Route City of Bhukara in Uzbekistan. Bukhara is an ancient and Cultural city it came into popularity during the time of Silk Route and the rise of Islamic Scholars from this part of the world. Bukhara is filled with historical monuments such as mosques, madrassas, minarets, old bazaars that still is operating till today. Bukhara is famous for the kalon minaret which is so beautiful that when Chenzis Khan conquired bukhara he destroyed everything yet spared this minaret. A char minar smiliar to India is also located here but the architecture is more uzbek or oguz. Bhukahara was a great center for learning mirza ulugbeg bulit a school for religious and scientific studies here. Which has many contributions to modern astronomy and medical science. Even the great Islamic scholar who complied the saying of the prophet imam bhukari was also from this city. Even Mullah nasiruddin the witty guy about whom we all read in our childhood is from bhukahara. Last thing the present imam of Jama masjid, Delhi is has Bhukarari surname and have migrated from here. I hope you like the pics. Thanks and Regards.

"Highly" impressive! This magnificent minaret looks so simple from a distance, but as soon as you get closer, you see so many fine details that you can't help but be fascinated. Fortunately for us, Chinghis Khan was also so impressed by this minaret that he spared it when Bukhara was destroyed. But credit where credit is due, and in this case credit goes to Usto Bako, the architect of the Kalon minaret and also to Arslan Khan, the Karakhanid ruler who ordered its construction in 1127. The surface of the tower is decorated with fourteen bands, each with its own geometric pattern. Between the seventh and eighth band there is a calligraphy with the names of Arslan Khan and Usto Bako. The minaret has a 13-meter deep foundation, is 9 meters wide at the base and rises to a height of 48 meters to the top. This made it (probably) the tallest building in Central Asia at that time. This height suited the rulers of the Manghit Dynasty in the 18th and 19th centuries: violators of (Islamic) law were thrown off the tower without mercy. Despite this gruesome detail, the Kalon Minaret remains "highly" impressive!

There are many ancient monuments in Bukhara Sharif. Each of them is precious. Each of them seems to be a silent witness of what kind of people our ancestors were.

In fact, it is. Here, take Kalon Tower. Kalon Tower was built in 1127 under the guidance of the architect Usta Baqo, according to the decree of the last Karakhanid ruler, Arslan Khan. Its height is 47.5 meters, and its diameter is 9 meters. This monument with 105 steps was once called the Arslan Khan Tower. It is not surprising that it was later named Minorai Kalon (Big Tower) due to its popularity and height.

If you draw a picture, it reminds you of the beautiful figure of a person. Some historians say that Adam was sixty feet tall, and Kalon Tower was built in the same size. Kalon Tower was a beacon for trade caravans in ancient times, - says Shodmon Hayitov, professor of Bukhara State University, Doctor of History. A lamp was lit on it at night. The tower was visible from afar for the caravans traveling along the Great Silk Road. The call to prayer was read there.

In addition, the tower served as a warning against the enemy's invasion. As soon as the army of Yav was seen from the skyscraper tower, it began to take defensive measures... In 2027, it will be exactly 900 years since the construction of...
