FERUZKHAN HOTEL | Madrasa "Mohammed Rakhim Khan 1871" — Hotel in Khiva

Located in the heart of Ichan-Qala, the Feruzkhan hotel is a truly magical place. The Madrasah students' cells have been converted into bedrooms, all facing into an authentic central courtyard. As a location, it is simply perfect to be in the middle of this special place.||if you stay here, you should have an idea of what to expect. The rooms are of a good enough size, as I offer few clients stay more than two nights. The doors are small (of course they are, it's a madrasah), but once inside, the rooms are simply charming with enough storage space and alcoves to make it a wonderfully cosy home from home. Our bathroom was clean and very well appointed, and we enjoyed two night's excellent sleep there.||The breakfast room is again a little limited in size, but there is additional seating outside, although in late September it was starting to feel a little chilly. first thing. The breakfast can get crowded if a tour party is being accommodated and they all converge at once. We're happy to share a table and find out where in the world other guest have travelled from.||We very much enjoyed our stay here, indeed it felt like a bit of a privilege to stay in a place with so much character. Davvero non credevo avremmo avuto la possibilità di soggiornare presso una madrasa, né, per la verità, che alcune di queste antiche strutture scolastiche 📖 islamiche fossero state convertite in alberghi, eppure, in tal senso, Khiva ha saputo sorprenderci 😮 non poco. Giunti in città direttamente dall'aeroporto di Urgench 🛬 (circa 45 minuti di percorrenza in auto 🚗), siamo stati condotti dal nostro autista/guida 🧑🏽 al Feruzkhan Hotel che, appunto, abbiamo scoperto essere stato ricavato all'interno della madrasa "Mohammed Rakhim Khan 1871" (stando alle informazioni che ho raccolto in rete 📱🌐 dovrebbe chiamarsi così poiché, a onor del vero, l'albergo sembrerebbe non avere un sito ufficiale). Veramente suggestivo il colpo d'occhio 👁 apprezzabile dalla corte interna sulla quale si affacciano tutte le strutture del complesso, dalla reception al bar/ristorante passando per le stanze degli ospiti. In breve c'è stata consegnata la chiave (o meglio, la scheda 💳) della camera (la n. 22) permettendoci così di lasciare i bagagli 🧳 e sistemarci in velocità (l'autista/guida 🧑🏽 ci stava infatti aspettando alla reception per iniziare la visita della città vecchia). La nostra permanenza in loco si è protratta sino al mattino successivo, quando, verso le 10.00 🕙, siamo ripartiti 🚗 alla volta di Bukhara, stavolta però con un nuovo autista 👨🏽. Non male le stanze, allestite proprio all'interno di quelli che un tempo erano i veri alloggi degli studenti 📖. Buona l'abitabilità, soprattutto del bagno 🚾 (peraltro munito di ampia vasca 🛁), mentre le finiture mi sono parse in generale un po' datate. I più alti devono avere l'accortezza di abbassare un po' la testa entrando e uscendo perché le porte 🚪 sono piccole (la struttura resta d'altronde quella originale della madrasa). Il Wi-Fi 🛜 è gratuito 🆓️ e funziona bene. Non straordinario l'assortimento a colazione ma comunque sufficiente per quelle che erano le nostre esigenze. Non conosco le tariffe poiché si trattava di una delle strutture comprese nel nostro pacchetto di viaggio, naturalmente già saldato con largo anticipo prima di partire. Strategica la posizione nel cuore di Itchan Kala (la città vecchia), dunque comodità assoluta per le visite del borgo. Esperienza unica e dunque...
