Cleaning leaves a LOT to be desired… disappointing really.
Check-in - they were very accommodating as we paid from the 3rd but arrived on the 4th around 01:00.
Had a microwave but you can’t use it because it has a 3 pin plug and there were only 2 pin plug points in the room.
Close to the beach but it is in an alley.
Detailed experience.
The WiFi was slow, it would cut out often during MS Team calls (this was when only one device was connected) and we had to reboot it every other day. On a normal day, the speed was 14-19mbs (would be a bit slower if more than 1 device was connected) but in the early hours of the morning, it could go up to 40-45mbs.
The cleaning is done once a week on Mondays. The cleaning standard isn’t the best. There was dust on countertops and on parts of the floor when we arrived and the shower glass, shower tap, bum gun (hand held bidet) and shower gel holder were all dirty. They had soap scum, hair and just dirt. All of these things were never cleaned during our stay… we cleaned them ourselves if we wanted them clean.
Sadly, we often didn’t get towels after cleaning and would have to ask the cleaning ladies to give us some, they would sometimes leave the dirty ones so not change them at all. They would also leave the bathroom completely wet, from the shower to the actual toilet, it was as though they hosed the room down and left it (this only started 2 weeks into our stay). We also had an incident where they changed our sheets and gave us very dirty sheets and we had to wait until the next day to get clean ones.
Because they cleaned our room first and their cleaning stuff was kept in storage on the roof, on 4 occasions after they had “cleaned” and left, we found a lizard or those huge cockroaches. One time, we found both.
Tipping goes really far, we think we got the service we did because we didn’t tip the cleaning ladies. We saw them wipe the floors and ensure another apartment was clean and dry and we saw them get tipped, only to walk into our very wet and poorly cleaned apartment. The “cleaning” got worse by the week so tip if you can.
The cleaning or lack thereof and the slow WiFi were ultimately why we chose to leave after staying for 2 months.
On the day of our checkout, the man asked to see the meter to calculate how much we would get back from our deposit. He took down the numbers then pushed passed me into our room (we had said we would check out at 10:30, it was around 08:30), we were having breakfast at the table… the windows and curtains were open but the lace curtains were closed to give us privacy whilst still ventilating the room, he opened both lace curtains without asking us if that was okay. He started looking through cupboards, checking the fridge, he took the microwave that couldn’t be used and the rice cooker, looked around some more and then left with the items. It was very awkward and we felt rushed to leave even though they had said that checkout was until 12:00.
Overall, I think it’s a good place if you don’t mind the slow internet connection and the occasional random pest in your room. Tipping clearly goes a long way so tip if you can or get mediocre service. Wouldn’t stay longer than a month again because I think that’s when they just flat out stop caring but a month is good.
Oh and there was construction next door during our stay, it was ridiculously loud but that is not the...
Read moreThe apartment is clean, well ventilated, and exactly looks like pictures. It is fully furnished esp with an electric stove, cable TV, a washing machine, and a microwave. Although at first i did not know how to use some devices in the room, when i asked the host, they immediately replied to me and gave me detailed instructions. Very grateful for their help 🙏 I feel like my home, by being welcomed with their smiles everyday. Also, although the building is in a valley, the valley is pretty large enough for cars to enter and move easily, so its totally fine for me. Very easy to locate. A safe and cozy place. Definitely recommended for any solo...
Read moreI enjoyed my long-term stay here very much. It was a very short walk to the beach with a beautiful from the rooftop. The rooms were clean, well equipped, and if I had any problems or issues the family that owned and managed the building was very helpful and caring. There was a generous amount of space on the roof to hang dry clothes or big blankets. My room had a beautiful design, balcony, Smart TV, and great WiFi for when I was teaching online. Parking inside the building was safe and convenient. Beds were firm but comfortable. I appreciated the storage space I had with shelves, cabinets, and wardrobes in the rooms. Great place to stay...
