I first want to mention that my wife and I dined here on the night of 06-July-2024 (Saturday) around 9:30pm. And I got extremely sick the day after eating here. I'd like to also mention that only I got sick and my wife was fine. But she only had one bite of the lobster and one snail. And I ate most of it. We also ate at so many places during our stay, that I cannot say for certain that we got sick from this place. But my wife was searching on another community site, and she found a family got sick after eating on the exact same day as us. Coincidence?

With that said, this is my review of this place, assuming that I did not get from sick from this place.

The Atmosphere: It was overall very empty. Not many people in the restaurant. And this was around 9:30pm on a Saturday night. Which is right after the Dragon Bridge fire show. You would think it would be busier. The staff was friendly and seated us near the fan/ac unit. So, temperature wise, it was very comfortable, however the massive airflow was a little annoying. Used napkins would fly off the table. And I can only imagine that our food got colder faster due to this. The decor was okay. Nothing to complain about. Overall, just average place.

Staff: Staff was friendly. However, I felt they were under-trained. We ordered a ton of food. However, they didn't really bring us any utensils. We got some spoons and wooding sticks to pick out the snails. But that's about it. When we received the crab and lobster, we didn't receive and claw crackers, or forks or anything. We kind of sat around for a few minutes, but we had to flag down a server. A person did come by to crack our crab for us. And he seemed pretty inexperienced and had a hard time. Even after he prepared our crab, we still had to do a lot of cracking on our own. We had to ask for a cracker again later. No forks or knifes were given to us initially. We had to ask for one. So, we used to fork to pull out the lobster meat. And they didn't give us knives, instead suggested we used the scissors. Which did the job, but it was just awkward. With all that said though, I truly believe the staff was kind and tried their best. But again, I think they just needed better training. Towards the end of our meal, I think a manager person did notice our facial expressions wasn't so good and they asked us is everything was okay. We expressed some of our complaints, so they did give a discount off our bill.

The Food: The seafood was alive and living in tanks before it was served to us. So, you'd expect it to be super fresh. (Unless they do a back room switcharoo, which could be possible) So initially, when I got sick, I didn't think it was this place. Until we saw another reviewer who got sick the same night. And some of my friends brought up a good point that it may not be the seafood itself, rather the preparation or sauces. It could be any number of things. But besides that, the food was just okay. I felt the lobster was slightly overcooked. A but rubbery and chewy. We ordered a variety of sauces that night (garlic butter, grilled cheese, and chili sauce), which was mistake. Because all of the sauces were super garlicy, creamy, cheesy, sweet, and heavy. In retrospect, we should've just ordered one dish with sauce and gotten the rest grilled or steamed. Everything was so rich and sweet. The first few bites were great, but after a while it just got difficult to eat.

Conclusion: All in all, it was an average experience. The prices were very reasonable for what we got. We order a lobster, crab, scallops, and Snails. And they weren't small portions either. But with me getting sick, the under-trained staff, and the just average food, I had to rate the restaurant as below average. So, if 3 is average, this place would be a 2. If I didn't order all the rich sweet sauces and just got grilled. I may have bumped it to a 3. If I did get sick from this place, then this place...

So the seafood in itself is AMAZING. The service however is lacking. We ordered 2 crabs, 2 sea urchins and two sides/starters. The seafood mains show up quartered (not a problem) but with the shell still attached and without any shell opener or sides. So we wait about 10-15 mins for the shell opener and sides before we had to grab the attention of the waiter who eventually shows back up with the shell opener. Still no sides/starter. By the time the sides/starter show we've finished the mains. We had to send the 'fried' broccoli back twice as it was pretty much uncooked. A bit crunch is good, but was the broccoli ever in the same room as the pan??? So the third time we send it back, it's returned steamed not fried. We used every way of communicating/translating (Google translate/verbal and always extremely polite and respectfully) to the staff how it was we wanted the broccoli and it just seemed like they couldn't quite grasp what we wanted, having to get two other members of staff involved to discuss, leave together in a group and return to discuss that the broccoli was cooked. We paid and left. All in all the fish can't dispute how well it's cooked, the waiters seem like they just left school the same day and walked into their first job thinking "how hard can customer service/table...

The food here was cooked well, the restaurant was clean and the staff was great. We ordered the crab (Singapore chilli crab style) which was well cooked, small and spicy. We also had the salted grilled Pomfret fish which was delicious.

We got to go to the fish tanks and pick out the crab and fish we wanted to eat. They have a weighing scale for weight - you are charged per 100g. The prices are fair and slightly expensive but very affordable and worth it.

I may not recommend this place for someone looking to have a seafood dinner in Danang because- Their drink menu wasn’t great. Could have had more options like house made sodas, juices, teas etc. Their appetiser and side dish menu was limited. There is only 1 vegetable option.

I want to mention that the atmosphere and vibes were great. There are many seats which are outdoors and indoors. The outdoor seating area is also cooled with ac and fans and is a very pleasant temperature especially in the night.

The staff were very helpful and nice. They cut up our crab for u and helped us order.

The bathrooms here were also great - clean and air conditioned with soap and toilet paper stocked.

Definitely a great place...

It was an impromptu visit to Lang Cai Seafood restaurant as the famous one nearby was a 50min wait. As we were worried that we may not make it in time for the dragon bridge show at 9pm, we decided to give it a trt. We had a feast as you can see in the photos taken. Service by the staff was superb. Our waiter was very attentive and polite. Among all our dishes, my favourite was the morning glory, baked cheese scallop and garlic butter crab. Unfortunately the garlic butter crab tasted too similar to the scallops so our wow factor waan't so great. It is nice to have garlic bread along with the crabs but could be better if served hot. I would recommend to order crabs done with other sauce next time. The restaurant has a very nice ambience, like dining in a very well decorated vietnamese backyard. Definitely very instagrammable. Overall, a nice dinner experience. And we will definitely be in time to catch our dragon bridge fire water show later.
