Golden Sun Hotel Đà Nẵng — Hotel in Đà Nẵng

I had been in Da Nang at another hotel two days prior to finding my way to Ocean View Hotel/Hoang Linh Dan Hotel and I must say going there was the best decision I made.||||When I arrived to the hotel I was warmly greeted by Hana and the rest of the front desk staff. When I was checked in I was fully informed of the complimentary options such as breakfast (from 630a-930a on the 9th floor), the coffee & tea, and the costs of the minibar options. Hana and I talked about what I had already done in Da Nang and Hoi An and then proceeded to tell me about the other activities and sites that the surrounding area has to offer. ||||The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the amenities were great (shampoo, body wash, q-tips, toothbrushes, combs, clean towels, and even a hair dryer.) The bathroom was spotless and the shower was GREAT (multiple shower heads, great pressure, and plenty of hot water)!||||I had such a great experience the first night that I stayed an additional night. ||||The entire staff was warm and welcoming, breakfast was delicious both mornings and it was also varied. We booked the family room that was 75 m2 so it might be an outlier, but it was in poor condition. Barely passable to live in and definitely not worth the price. Regeetted booking 6 days online..

Negative: Humid and smelly when entering and throughout. Old and worn down surfaces. Wallpaper taped, floors wobbly. Mold in bedroom ceiling. Smelled of cigarettes. The ventilation was almost absent completely. Missing curtains in one of the bedrooms, Missing remote for one of the AC units. Missing shower curtains so water will splash all over the place.

Positive: AC was working Staff seems nice. Good location, close to the beach and restaurants nearby. Spacious... View from our room at the 13th floor was great.

All in all, I would not recommend this. There are far better options nearby and at better pricing as well.

I would recommend to the hotel that they renovate this room completely before renting it out again as bad press is worse than most things in...

Hotel appropriate for the price paid .Lobby a bit warm as the aircon is not always on .Toilet paper cannot be flushed down the toilet bowl.Notice in the toilet says not to throw "paper towels" into the toilet bowl which is wrong.Room is clean.Common area could do with better cleanliness.Staff were fast to settle any problem.Buffet breakfast is more to Vietnamese foodas I notice the guests are mostly local Vietnamese. There's a souvenier shop at the lobby selling coconut crackers for 20000vnd(not a bad price)It's location is good..near many good restaurants,My Khe beach and a short Grab away to the Son Tra night market.Dont forget to try the coffee( roadside stall) in the lane next to the hotel.You get a nice cup of salted coffee...
