If I can give more than 5 stars, I would. It was one of the best hotel stays I've had in years.
Location: not sure if I would call this area a city-center, but it's located very nicely where you have close access to the lake, night market, and whole bunch of restaurants and cafe (especially if you're looking for local joints like pho, bun, com dishes). It's 20-something kilometers away from the DLI airport. I could not have asked for a better location, as I was able to tour around the town easily on foot.
Room: i'm not sure if there are various types of rooms offered, but the room I stayed in was great. It had basic bathroom amenities, TV, WIFI with great connectivity, a mini fridge, and a comfy double bed. I stayed on the 3rd flr with a balcony facing the city, so that was definitely a plus. The room has no aircon but had a fan that was sufficient (and you'll see why you won't need aircon- this town is in a mountain area so it's cool and even chilly in the morning and evening). No particular flaws in the room.
Reception / staff: this was the best part (5+ stars). The hotel is a "family hotel", run by family members. At first I was a bit surprised to see that the hotel "opens" at 6:00am and "closes" at 11:30pm (was a first time i stayed in a hotel with operating hours), but it makes sense because it's run by family members and it's to keep the operation smooth and secure. For those worrired about curfew (11:30pm), this won't be a problem because this is a relatively quiet town where shops close around 10:00pm (Dalat is not exactly a party/nightlife town).
More on to the staff, they even prepared snacks and water in the room upon check-in which i thought was a kind gesture. But the surprise didnt end there, on the 2nd day I left the room early morning and came back in the afternoon and I saw that they replenished with more water bottles and more snacks, complimentary by the hotel. This was exceptionally thoughtful and kind of them. A+ service!
The room is powered by a stick (not key cards) that you insert in a socket-ish plug and you'll need to leave the key with the reception whenever you're leaving the room. Another surprising element, but that's again to maintain security (in case you lose the key which is hard to replace since it's not a key-card). The hotel is all about keeping it safe and secure, so guests should be ok with that.
Oh, they also provide laundry service, VND 30,000 per 1 kg, which is a great price.
If I ever come back to Dalat, I'm certainly coming back to this hotel. Very highly...

Trying to identify a hotel to stay for a week prior to arriving can be an endless process of cross-checking reviews against multiple hotels. Thankfully, Hotel La Na Ni was recommended by an Australian lady who lives in Da Lat.
The location is superb, easy walking distance to various good food / cafe establishments. Various ATM's are available within 200m also.
The hotel is six stories with a fast, quiet reliable lift so no lugging the bags up the stairs. I stayed on the 5th floor, window facing the laneway. There was no street noise with the windows closed at night. The room was large in size, comfortable Q sized bed, small desk with two chairs, wardrobe, TV (which I never turned on) and a small fridge. Ensuite bathroom with a shower, vanity and toilet. Two bottles of water were provided daily as was maid service. The bed and pillows were comfortable, bedding was changed after 3 days.
Ni who is the brother in the La Na Ni name manages the hotel with La and Na being his sisters who live abroad. Ni was excellent in providing advice, recommendations and directions whenever needed. Hi father (Ra?) sorry I can't remember his name, was fun to speak with, he gave me some language lessons.....
Don't expect the Ritz Hotel, it's not, but it's a very clean Hotel in a great location with fantastic staff at reasonable prices.

Read moreIt’s funny when I had to think of the title for this because there was so many positive things I could have said! But the title I chose was pretty much on point and it hit the nail. Originally I had stayed at a place for two nights, and the place that was chosen for me was terrible. Coming here it was 180° difference. Customer service to the quality of the room to available hot running water. In my opinion this place was the best bang for your buck for the price they were asking for. The room was clean, there was no moldy smell, plenty of amenities for the room and, oh and I did mention hot running water. The gentleman that owned the hotel, presented absolute best customer service. It was raining and he gave me an umbrella to use for the whole trip. He always made sure and asked in the morning if everything was OK. Very nice gentleman. If you want to save money and stay at a place where you think do you want a good surprise this would be the place. Thank you very much for the GREAT customer...
