Only seen the reviews after our stay and shocked to see it was horrific.||To us it wasn't bad at all.||||Had a problem with the original place we were staying in Hanoi so kind of stumbled upon this place; outside the mix of things.||They were good enough to let us check in early (with a fee of an extra 15%) as we got here around 6am.||||The room wasn't bad for the price and no dodgy things going on during our stay.||||I wouldn't solely rely on this review to decide to stay here, but as the last review was over a year ago, maybe they had a change of heart. ||I'd recommend staying here after a couple of more good reviews, but for us it was perfect.||||I'd really give them more 3 or 4 out of 5, but as they were good enough to let us check in early and late, as well as arrange a taxi to the airport which was half the price of what you'd get on the street; I'd given them a 5/5.||||Hopefully the good reviews will follow, or ppl will just think I'm just one of their staff...

Like everyone one els who has reviewed this hotel. My mates and I rocked up after our flight from Bangkok to one of lonely planets nice hotels, there a friendly man was standing waiting to great us but also to tell us that all rooms were full and he would take is to his other hotel. Long story short we paid $18 for a twin single room that had beds that were hard as a rock. Then he roped us into doing a Halong Bay tour the next day because it was going to storm even typhoon weather. What should have cost us $100, cost us $190. When we were on the cruise, we met 2 guys who told us they paid $100 for the 3 day 2 night tour (exactly what we were doing). So when we got back we got pretty pissed at the guy and all he could say was ''not possible to pay as little as our friends did we are lying blah blah'' we couldn't get any money back but we will know for future sakes. Couldn't careless about this place the fact is there flat out liars! Asked the cab driver to take us somewhere I had found in my travelling guide which he told me he knew the place. Only to b met with someone who told us they were fully booked. Although I contested the man as i could not see the guesthouse sign. He opted to get in the cab & show us there other hotel nearbye. My gf and i had trvelled all the previous day & had not slept all night so we wanted a quick check in. So we went with them to a place near bye. & checked in for 1 night.
