Spice Viet Hanoi Restaurant — Restaurant in Hà Nội

Thought we would splash out and treat ourselves to an expensive meal in Hanoi. We ordered and waited 90 mins for our first dish. We didn’t get any plates or chop sticks. We kept asking for this and where the rest of our food was and the staff had no idea. It wasn’t even that busy. We left after 120 mins without eating anything because we had no plates and one dish. When we tried leaving they tried charging the whole bill, they then said to pay for the item which was presented to us 30 mins prior but I mentioned we had no plates or cutlery. They offered to box up for us and wouldn’t take not paying for the item as an option. We paid for the dish and left. We were not the only people to leave early. At first, walking in with no one greeting us felt a bit off—especially since the place looks like a 5-star restaurant from the outside. But once we went upstairs, everything changed. The dining area is bright, beautifully designed, and perfectly air-conditioned—such a comfortable space to relax in.

Now, the food: absolutely fantastic. And I’m picky. The menu photos on the iPad are helpful, but be warned—in the best way—the real dishes are double the size. Total surprise and very generous portions. Every dish we had was delicious, fresh, and clearly made with care.

Highly recommend. Don’t let the quiet entrance fool you—this place seriously delivers.

I had a wonderful experience staying at this hotel. Ms. Vân and the entire staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and easy to talk to, which made me feel right at home from the very beginning. The atmosphere was warm and pleasant, and I truly appreciated how everyone went out of their way to make guests feel comfortable. The view from my room was beautiful — it added a relaxing touch to my stay, especially in the mornings. The food was also excellent, both delicious and thoughtfully prepared.
