Le Jardin hotel and spa, Hanoi is in an excellent location. Apart from the location, I found the staff smiling and helpful and also excellent food. We took a city facing room in the 6th floor and the room was neat and tidy with great view. There is an umbrella available in the room also. The hotel offered complimentary pick up from the airport and since it took more than 1 ½ hours, it was surprising to find the driver standing at the exit with a play card displaying my name with a smile an energy. He was in constant message through WhatsApp. He informed us that it will take us 45 minutes to reach the hotel and so we can use the washroom prior to starting our journey to hotel. So nice of him, so caring. It was a Mitsubishi Xpander car we reached hotel and were greeted by the smiling gentleman behind the reception desk, who completed the check-in in 5/6 minutes at around 4:25 am. d vehicle very nicely maintained with water bottles. Breakfast menu had various items, and the personal care of the staff made it more memorable on rainy morning. A lady came in person and took order for eggs and any other requirement. Generally, they do not provide water and on request they even provided warm water. After we checked out next day, we stored our luggage and also informed that the day after tomorrow we will require a car for airport drop. We came after 2 days of check-out as we went to cruise and were greeted with same enthusiasm. As we collected our luggage the lady came and asked about our requirement for car for airport drop. So nice of her to remember, and she arranged for one car at a reasonable rate so quickly. “Ms Claire’’ was the lady and any industry would love to have a great person, sincere worker like her. Another name worth mentioning is “Ms Stacie” whose prompt responses have made it really comfortable and secure. Strongly recommended hotel for stay in Hanoi as it is very near to Opera House, Train Street , Quan Thanh Temple, Presidential Palace, Ho Chi Minh Complex with Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and Tran Quoc Pagoda (lake) and Old Quarter, Ngoc Son Temple, Hoàn Kiếm, St. Joseph’s Cathedral are just 10/15 minutes walk. Great street shopping nearby with full of street food options available too. Please bargain on street market products, but with love...

Read moreThis has been the worst stay we have had in Vietnam after having stayed at 5 other hotels. Thankfully we were only here for one night. The rooms are awful and whilst the majority of staff were pleasant, the way in which the hotel is run is somewhat lacking in common sense. Don’t be fooled by the reviews or pictures which are cleverly shot to present this hotel to look much more spacious and grander than it is.
The rooms are tired, worn out and quite small. There is also a musty drainage smell when you walk in which lingers in the room. It is very noisy and you can hear every little sound from other rooms as well as the street all night long.
We booked a massage at the spa which initially seemed like it would be a highlight, however as soon as the masseuse began it was clear this was an inexperienced person following a set routine. The massage movements felt rushed and lacked any sort of technique. Definitely the most disappointing massage I have had in Vietnam. We cancelled my husband’s one as mine was so bad. In addition they gave a 10% discount to in house guests but failed to mention a service charge which is added at the end bringing the price to more than the original price quoted on the menu.
We booked via Expedia which allowed us to have a 20% discount voucher for food and drinks. Since room service was from the same restaurant and we had a 6 month old baby, we asked if we could have the food in the room. Unfortunately they did not allow this leaving us no choice but to go to the fine dining restaurant with a crying baby, spoiling it for other diners clearly there celebrating special occasions.
Personally I would avoid this hotel and spa, there are much better options for the same price.
UPDATE:
What a disappointing response from the hotel. Clearly trying to change the narrative of the story. The whole point was that we had to cancel my husband’s pre-booked massage because mine was so bad. To say that he went on to enjoy a massage after mine is completely false. He ended up going for a massage across the street, certainly not at...
