I picked here because of all the positive reviews but for me it was a bit of a mixed bag. We got off to a bad start when I booked their taxi from the airport as I thought he would know the location of the hotel. We spent 10 mins driving around until I showed him where it was on google maps! Also their laundry service is 100,000 dong per 7kg (150,000 for same day) rather than a price per kg. If you have 7kg then it’s good value but I only had 1kg (although they did offer me 100,000 for same day service)| It’s a family run business so there are only 3 rooms, 1 on each floor. I was in 401 which is on the top floor up 53 steps up a tight twisty staircase (there is no elevator) It was a bit of a struggle lugging my suitcase up and down.| The family themselves I found helpful and friendly. The father’s English is limited but the son speaks good English. | The room is done in an urban industrial style and is tastefully finished, as indeed is the bathroom. I had the blue room with a single and double bed, the double had a comfortable mattress while the single bed was pretty hard. The room was lovely and quiet the whole time I was there. It’s located about 5 mins from Hoa Lo prison, 15 mins from Le Duan train street, (which is less touristy than the main one, Phung Hung) and about 30 mins from Dong Xuan market by foot| The negatives with the room are the tv is on the wall to the side of the bed making it awkward to watch. The blinds on the window didn’t fully close and the ceiling fan and bathroom windows hadn’t been cleaned in a long long time and were covered in black dust. The shower is a wet room and the mounting on the wall means the water comes out horizontally and went over my head (I’m 1.85m tall!) You had to have it on a low flow to get wet and the pressure and temperature were a bit variable on the same setting. Also their floor tiles are slippery when wet and no bath mat is provided.| Overall I felt it was...

Read moreA real gem in Hanoi. Well located, close to the old quarter. Very beautiful rooms, nicely decorated with good taste. Well appointed, with great amenities: with some basic cooking possibilities (basic), beautiful china, boiler, fridge, hairdrier, etc. I had the top room that had just great views on the local roofs, it is like a penthouse. The room is large, very comfy.||||There is not really a reception but you can always call the owners and they immediately help. There is no elevator but the owners help with your luggage up the stairs if you ask. I have not managed to find out how to order breakfast, but apparently it is possible, and if not, there are many many cheap eating places around so it is not a big deal. ||||All in all, I will always choose this place in Hanoi, it is much better than a hotel (last time I was in the Movenpick just 200m away, but I enjoyed this place much more). And of course the price is nice, too!||||The only thing I would recommend them is to replace the sheets by cotton ones. Everything else is so high quality, the plastic bedding is not in harmony with the rest...
