Just after visiting the Hoa Lo prison, I really wanted to eat something quick and looked for the closest place, which is lobster queen. I’ve never had lobster roll in my life so I was pretty enthusiast about it.
I’ve been seated directly and got the menu: simple menu which in my opinion is perfect when you have one main speciality. I’ve ordered one lobster roll with french fries and a salt and peach lemonade.
Unfortunately the fries were overcooked and a bit tough, which almost gave me the impression they were from another service and had been refried. The lobster roll arrived 8-10 min after. It was served hot, the bun felt a bit greasy at first. But overall the bun was soft and well toasted, filling was a bit uneven inside, but portion was still generous, creamy and tasteful. I added some Tabasco on top of it and it was perfect.
There was a miss on the drink because I’ve had to ask it at the end of the meal because I wasn’t served, which is too bad because I liked it. Found very interesting the saltiness in the drink.
Overall good food, just don’t go for the fries but the Lobster roll is a no brainer for me, if you’re a big eater you could think of...
Read moreI’m pretty sure this is a relatively new eatery in Hai Ba Trung. I rode past one night by chance and pledged to try it out ASAP. I’ve never eaten lobster rolls in Maine (or anywhere in the US for that matter), but this cafe is a very good starting point.
I chose the main combo, kind of the house special: lobster roll, side of butternut pumpkin soup and a tangy garden salad. I ate the sides first and built up to the lobster roll. And I have to say it was everything I’d imagined about this fabled US dish. The bread was soft, flakey and buttery (almost Mantou-like) and the lobster filling was rich, dense and perfectly seasoned.
This is a complete meal and a very generous serve which delivers value for money. Given that we are just weeks away from winter in Hanoi, it will soon be the perfect time of year to be enjoying this perfectly hearty and delicious lunch/dinner set.
The interior of the restaurant was clean, tidy and spacious and the staff run a simple but effective operation. I noticed how clean and well ordered the kitchen was. The restaurant is an absolute credit to the Hanoi scene. Next cool autumn day I’m coming straight back for more....

I recently visited your establishment and ordered the lobster roll, expecting a quality similar to what I’ve enjoyed in places like Boston and San Francisco. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with my meal. The lobster meat was rubbery and lacked freshness, and the heavy layer of mayonnaise, along with an overly buttered white roll, seemed to mask the poor quality rather than enhance it.
At a price of 340,000 VND (approximately US$13), your lobster roll is significantly more expensive than those served at other local restaurants, yet the portion size and quality did not justify the cost.
On a positive note, I found your staff to be friendly and efficient, which was a highlight of the experience. However, I would strongly recommend that management reassess the quality of ingredients and portion sizes in relation to the pricing. With some adjustments, this dish could better meet customer expectations.
