We had a wonderful stay at the Mövenpick Hotel Hanoi and the customer experience was wonderful from end-to-end.
Upon reaching the hotel we were warmly greeted by the reception team who had some welcome drinks and seamlessly checked us in. we enjoyed the view and our drinks from the Infinity bar. The reception staff looked after us well during our stay with exchanging currency for us.
We would particularly like to recognise the concierge Huyen Tran who was truly remarkable with her customer service to us during our stay. She provided us with a wealth of information, guidance and handy tips for our stay in Hanoi.
She gave us the timetable for Train Street and the recommended bar/restaurant to get a great view, recommended a number of shops where I could find a particular t-shirt that I was after, helped us with multiple currency exchanges, found my wife’s lost sunglasses that she had left in the ground floor bar and had then returned to our room on top of the mini bar, retrieved my wife’s scarf that she left at the poolside bar and had it waiting for her to collect.
She even had bandaids for me to patch up my wound when I had cut my hand. Huyen, thank you so much. You were truly a delight to talk with and are truly an asset to the Accor group.
Facilities wise, there was a lovely pool with the really cool Cabana Club bar next to it on level 4. Mangosteen restaurant put out a great breakfast buffet every morning with plenty of local, international and traditional breakfast options in a fine dining setting.
Lounge 83 on the ground floor had really comfortable couches and a classy intimate setting playing soothing music in the background. Every day at 5pm they had Chocolate Hour where they put out a chocolate fountain and plenty of sweet treats all for free for hotel guests.
The Classic King Room that we stayed in was very clean, well appointed with great amenities. The two most important things about the room were well addressed. First, the bed was so comfortable that we had a good night’s sleep and felt well rested. It was like sleeping on a cloud. Second, the shower had excellent water pressure, regardless of whether you used the traditional shower head or the rain shower (which was my preferred option), was instantly hot and was quite spacious. Feeling clean and feeling well rested are two of the most important aspects in my opinion.
Location-wise, the hotel is very conveniently located a few minutes walk from the Old Quarter, about 10 minutes walk from Train Street, 10 minutes from Lake Hoan Kiem, and only 200 metres away from one of the best restaurants in Hanoi which is Quan An Ngon.
Every staff member that we interacted with at the hotel was friendly, helpful and a joy to be around. We really enjoyed our time at the Movenpick and look forward to returning there in the future. Thank you to the Movenpick team (and in particular Huyen) for a...
Read moreI recently stayed at the Mövenpick Hotel in Hanoi City Center and overall, I had a pleasant experience, deserving of a solid 4 out of 5 stars. The hotel's location is excellent, right in the heart of the city, which makes it very convenient for exploring the local attractions and enjoying the vibrant city life.
The standout feature of this hotel is undoubtedly its friendly and welcoming staff. From the moment I checked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and helpful service. The staff were attentive and always ready to assist, whether it was providing directions or attending to any requests I had during my stay. This level of hospitality really enhanced my overall experience.
The room itself was comfortable and well-maintained. I was pleased with the cleanliness of the space; the sheets were fresh, the beds were comfy, and the bathroom was nicely appointed with modern fixtures and amenities. The room offered basic amenities, including a coffee machine and a small fridge, which were convenient for morning routines and storing snacks. However, I found the minibar items to be quite overpriced, which is not uncommon, but still a bit disappointing when considering the overall value for money.
One area where the hotel fell short was the breakfast offering. While the food quality and variety were decent, I found the price of $23 USD per person to be overly expensive, especially considering the many local dining options nearby where you can get great meals at a fraction of the cost. This was the only aspect of the stay that felt misaligned with the overall experience.
Despite the minor downsides, my stay at the Mövenpick Hotel was comfortable and enjoyable. The hotel's central location, friendly staff, and clean, well-appointed rooms make it a great choice for anyone visiting Hanoi. However, I would recommend exploring nearby cafes for breakfast to get better value for your money. I would definitely consider staying here again on my next...
Read moreHaving stayed at other Accor properties in Hanoi, my decision lay in selecting a property that was in close proximity to the main attractions. I was initially apprehensive about crowds and noise but the service staff did their best to accommodate my stay requests. ||Front Desk staff are always friendly and professional. In particular, Mr. Thang, the Front Office Manager and his very capable team. Mr. Thang personally welcomed me to the property and constantly checked in on my satisfaction level. The Duty Manager, Mr. Tung Nguyen, also expeditiously resolved some minor issues; to which I'm grateful. Ms. Tam, the Reservations Manager and her team ensured that my airport transfer was seamless. ||Concierge team members are always pleasant and helpful. My appreciation to Ms. Tran, Concierge Supervisor, who provided me with very useful information on commute to Sapa. She was also very patient during her phone conversations with me. Concierge member, Mr. Tranh was extremely helpful in providing directions and as the weather was unpredictable, he made it a point to ensure that I was always equipped with an umbrella. ||The Executive Lounge team members are impeccable. They are extremely guest centric and are able to quickly acknowledge specific needs and requests. Mr. Quan, for instance, makes the best drinks and whiskeys. Ms. Anh remembers detailed preferences such as lemon slices to go along with my tea. Her dedication adds a touch of luxury. Ms. Quynh and Ms. Ngan are constantly ensuring that my preferred seat is catered for and tastefully set up. ||My only grouse would be how etiquette can be more firmly embraced in the Executive Lounge. Staff should enforce strict decorum and silence and not allow guests to be too rowdy, talk noisily or play their mobile devices aloud. ||I look forward to my next stay in the autumn/winter season. ||Dr. Sam Jay Yeo |Accor Live Limitless...
