Tamai Coffee is a hidden gem that captures the soul of slow living in Hanoi. Tucked in a quiet corner, the space feels like a warm escape — minimalist yet soulful, with soft wood accents, gentle lighting, and the comforting aroma of roasted beans drifting through the air. It’s the kind of café where time seems to move slower, inviting you to breathe, observe, and simply be.
The coffee here speaks for itself. Each cup is brewed with precision and care, revealing layers of flavor that evolve as you sip. Their signature hand-brew brings out a clean, balanced taste — slightly nutty, subtly floral, and beautifully smooth. For something indulgent, the Tamai latte is a favorite: rich, velvety, and harmoniously crafted. The pastries pair perfectly, especially the croissant, crisp on the outside and buttery within.
The baristas are kind and quietly passionate, always ready to share a story about the beans or brewing method. Soft music hums in the background, complementing the calm atmosphere.
Tamai Coffee isn’t just a café — it’s a feeling. A place to read, reflect, or let your thoughts wander with a cup in hand. It reminds you that coffee, at its best, is not just a drink, but a gentle...
Read moreI visited Tamai Cafe and was thoroughly disappointed. The space felt cramped and stuffy — it looked much nicer in photos, but in reality, it was old and worn-out. The vibe was just average, and the seating was quite uncomfortable and not very clean.
While the staff taking orders was polite, the person serving the food was not professional at all.
I ordered a caramel macchiato, but it was extremely bland and watery. The drink came with just two sad ice cubes floating in it, and the flavor was barely there. Honestly, the drink was terrible. When I asked to adjust it and add more ice and coffee, I was told I had to pay an extra 15,000 VND for the adjustment. After paying, the drink still tasted just as bad.
This was the first time I had to leave behind such a large portion of coffee — it was simply undrinkable. For 70,000 VND, it was an absolute disappointment and not worth the price at all.
The cafe is tucked away in a small alley, but even so, with these drink prices and this level of quality, it’s just terrible.
We ordered one drink and one cake, paid 160,000 VND, and left completely disappointed.
Definitely never...
Read moreIt’s a beautiful place and I was happy to find a café that serves matcha with oat milk. However, they served me an overly sugary matcha which tasted not good at all. I wasn’t aware of it being sweetened by default, because they didn’t ask if I want it sweet and sugar wasn’t mentioned on the menu. I assumed it would be unsweetened, since this was my usual experience in Hanoi so far. My bad.
I kindly asked if they could make me a new matcha without sugar since I barely touched the first one. They wanted me to buy a new drink. After I declined they offered me to dilute my drink with more ice and wanted to give me 10% voucher for my “next visit”. Lol. Bad service. I just left without having a drink. Not a...
