This is NOT a 4 star hotel - it's a 3 star hotel, used by several tour companies for their groups.|Spent four nights here. The hotel staff are EXCELLENT, super friendly and respond to any requests|immediately. Reception was fine, except the actual reception area behind the desk looked like a|storage area, with various boxes of things stacked up.|The hotel's webpage and it's in-room compendium say it has a great restaurant, open for B,L and D.|Arriving late after a long flight we asked about the restaurant, only to be told that it's only open|for breakfast ....|The room was a good size and the bed comfortable - but tired. Like the whole hotel, it needs a serious |refurbishment and modernising. The bathroom had a selection of toiletries, but the bathtub was not sealed around the wall, |which resulted in water flooding the floor while you use the shower. Don't put anything under the sink if you don't want to get it wet !!|Also in the in-room compendium you'll find the list of tv channels, but only a couple of the non-news English channels actually work. You get a blank screen on the others.|Breakfast was adequate, but average - and crowded.|The location is just outside the old town, but just around the corner from the Maison Centrale - the former colonial French |prison and it's about a 15 minute walk to the stunning St Joseph's Cathedral which is modeled on Notre Dame.|The hotel is clean and safe - just not of a 4...
Read moreThe hotel was clean and well appointed in that it had toiletries and towels and nice sheets but it was shabby by 4 star standards despite the nice rooms. We felt it was a 3 star overall. The grouting was dirty, the bath creaked terribly and there was no evening meal service, pool or even room service (despite a hotel guide in the room saying there was!). The shower was ok but not more than like a domestic wall shower. We had three pillows over the one single and one double in the room and the pillows were flat. We ate at the hotel on the street but it was all frog, squab and other peculiar meats, even by Vietnam standards. No veggie options in the streets around so for more digestible food walk a few streets. There is a safe in the room and good WiFi. Breakfast service was over full and chaotic. The fruit juices were from concentrate (I saw her refilling). So it was ok but isn’t a destination. The location was ok for central Hanoi but not great if you can’t walk easily. The breakfast was ok but certainly not as good as others we have stayed in. The room cleaning was very good and the hotel felt safe. I think we would have been more pleased if we hadn’t had better in Siagon, Hue and Hoi An. The air con was good but switches off...
Read moreI think this hotel should be high 3 star hotel not 4 star. Clean rooms overalls. Breakfast is good. No amenities like pools or gym. The service is okay, we ran out of toliet paper and we had to call reception twice for them to get it for us. Didnt clean the rooms in the morning but around 2pm, which is rather late. Tv remote ran out of battery and we had to go reception to change it cause no one came up to our room. They did bring our luggage from our taxi to our rooms but thats standard for good hotels. We stayed there two different rooms for few nights, two nights it was rather noise so sleeping was an issue, not sure if the noise came from outside the hotel or the guest but either way noise comes in from the balcony door. Its near by a few restaurants and shops but definitely takes about 5 to 10min walk to the main busy district.
TLDR Decent hotel but dont expect anything out of the ordinary. 3 stars at best. No amenities other...
