We spent 3 nights at Bloom 2 hotel. The location is excellent- you are right in the centre of district 1 and it is easy to navigate your way around from here. It's on a lovely street with many restaurants and cafés. The only issue is that the name of the hotel isn't clear on the outside so write down the address of the hotel to give to your taxi driver. We had done this and it made it a lot easier.||||The staff are friendly, if a little reserved. They keep your room key when you go out in case you lose it. They were very accommodating when we requested to stay longer than we had booked in for.||||The room was lovely with a huge bed and a wardrobe to store your things in. The only trouble was that there was much floor space so it felt a little cramped at times. The bathroom was the nicest we had had since arriving in Southeast Asia and the staff had left lots of little extras out- shampoo, soap, toothbrushes, cotton buds etc. which was a lovely touch. ||||It would have been nice to have breakfast included as we were paying more than we had anywhere else that we stayed. There was sometimes noise that woke me up in the morning from the front desk but I think this was only because we were in the room closest to it. The air conditioning in the...
Read moreWe stayed at Song Anh 1 Hotel. The host, Mom was helpful despite our language barriers. We always use google translate to communicate with him. His advised was to be extra careful when you in Ho Chi Minh. People will always try to scam you whenever they can especially if you pay with VND. ||Mom took me to the nearest ATM machine when I wanted to withdraw some money, he even advised me to take care of my phone cos he afraid people will simply snatch it cos I was recording the street from our motorbike. ||We took muslim tour Al Aamin (recommended), pay RM60 per pax and they brought us cruising along Mekong River, provide us lunch, stopover to textile factory (its quite expensive here compared to binh tay market). ||They prefer RM instead of VND, however bear in mind paying with RM will be a bit expensive. |We went to Benh Thanh Market but didn’t buy anything there. The sellers were furious and will force you to buy if you ask for price. ||We do shopping at Binh Tay Market whereby the sellers are more reasonable and not to furious hihi. ||Don’t forget to try coffee soleh in Malaysian Street, it cost only VND15000 or RM3 per cup. |Oh, don’t bother to buy lighter from street seller as my lighters which I bought for souvenirs was confiscated...
Read moreWoke up bright and early this morning by the sound of someone hammering on the opposite side of our hotel wall. Then the drilling started. And the smell of cigarette smoke began to drift in. We did our best to try and power through it but it was impossible. At one point I even stepped out of my room with my phone on record. You can see on video the active construction happening literally in the room beside ours. Door wide open. When we went down to the front desk, we were informed that the noise was okay because it was "only a few hours before checkout". We asked for a refund on account of the fact that you rent a room exclusively for the purposes of sleeping. We were declined and offered free tea. I contacted my booking service (Hotels.com) and they again contacted the hotel on our behalf. They declined a second time, but thankfully Hotels.com is a fantastic service and issued us a coupon refund as compensation. After leaving them a poor review via hotels.com they finally contacted me and offered a refund in exchange for removing my review. I declined because I'd like to do my best to spare any potential guest the discomfort of dealing with this establishment. This review is 100% truthful and reflects...
