Underwhelming. Not worth the money they charge.
Came here based on the reviews, but wish we hadn't!
First off, let's start with the positives:
Fish, our waiter, was lovely. He was a little over zealous with ensuring I left a good review when the bill came, even waiting for me to open my phone up. No wonder they have so many reviews! Too pushy. Friendly guy though.
The food itself was also tasty, if nothing spectacular. Beef with black pepper, fresh spring rolls and banana leaf salad. All decent.
Now, the negatives:
Our food came in about 2 minutes. It was WAY too quick for what we ordered. Our drinks didn't arrive until after we had already eaten half the food. Fish apologised. We thought we may have been unlucky, but it happened on tables around us too. Clearly a lot of what is prepared isn't made fresh for each table.
The prices are much higher than other restaurants nearby. I don't mind paying more, but I'd at least expect it to taste better, drinks to be served before food, and it not to turn up as if I had eaten in a fast food joint.
Tables were left uncleared for a while around us. Considering the food came so fast, you'd assume the entire eating experience would be rushed, but it wasn't. All quite odd.
Do yourself a favour and eat elsewhere...
Read moreI had the pleasure of being served by the adorable Wendy during my recent visit to a charming restaurant in Vietnam, and I can’t sing her praises enough! From the moment I arrived, Wendy's warm smile and friendly demeanor made me feel right at home. One of the highlights of my dining experience was when she took the time to show me how to fold rice wraps step by step. Her patience and enthusiasm were infectious, and she made the process so enjoyable. It's clear that she has a real passion for sharing her culture with others. Wendy is quite young but already has big dreams of traveling the world. I shared with her my own experiences of traveling solo, and she was genuinely impressed. It was heartwarming to see her excitement and aspirations for the future. While the food was absolutely delicious, it was Wendy who truly made my experience special. Her kindness and attention to detail brought an extra layer of joy to my meal. It’s moments like these that remind me of how wonderful the people of Vietnam are. Thank you, Wendy, for your warmth and for sharing a piece of your culture with me! I can't wait to return and...
Read moreThis restaurant is located in a heavily touristy area, and unfortunately, it feels like a typical tourist trap. While the menu offers a mix of Vietnamese traditional dishes and other Asian cuisines, the execution is average at best. The food is fine. It’s edible but uninspired, and certainly overpriced for the quality.
The fresh rolls were disappointing; the rice paper hadn’t been soaked properly, leaving it hard and unpleasant. The pho was another letdown, with a broth that lacked depth and complexity, no fresh or interesting herbs, and tired-looking beansprouts.
Service was inconsistent. We struggled to get the attention of a waiter, and our order was taken after two tables that arrived after us.
While the restaurant isn’t awful, it doesn’t live up to the hype suggested by what seem to be manipulated reviews.
If you’re looking for a memorable dining experience, I’d recommend trying Nhà Anh just a few minutes away. Much better food, better prices, and a more authentic experience. Save your time and money and...
