Mari Queen Hotel — Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City

It’s an good-sized hotel for me and my friend. We both are 5 feet tall and below so the room size is actually perfect for both of us. I’ve seen a lot of reviews saying that the room is a little cramp, size wise. But I guess IT IS a little cramp if you are European-size. For Asians, perfect.

I’ve also seen people have been saying that the environment outside of the hotel is pretty noisy - but I find that it’s okay. Maybe I got used to the honking. It’s the same vibe as Bangkok and Manila.. lots of honking. Just treat it as white noise.

The location of the hotel is pretty swell.. you can definitely walk to Bui Vien from the hotel.. The housekeeping cleans the room every single day - which is nice. And the linens are pretty nice.

There’s a convenience store next door so it is really convenient!

I find it funny that the shower curtain does not reach the floor. It really defeats the purpose of having a shower curtain there.

I found a promotional price for this hotel on various websites and decided to book a room from Agoda. The next day the hotel send me a message, asking me to cancel the booking because of the low price. I contacted Agoda, and they got back to me a day later, saying the hotel agreed to accommodate me. They even spoke to the hotel receptionist and confirmed my booking.

I forwarded the confirmation email to the hotel to verify, but instead they send me another pushy message demanding that I cancel the booking. They threatened that they would place an additional surcharge on my booking if I did not.

I attached their messages and sent them to Agoda. Once again, Agoda tried to confirm my booking with them, but three days later the hotel has yet to respond.
