Zodiac Bar — Restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City

I was just at this bar a few hours ago with my cousins and left immediately after 1 drink (wish I never came). This is by far the WORST service I have received ever in Vietnam. I had such high hopes for this places as the pictures and reviews all looked good. I was in for the biggest disappointment of my entire trip.

Upon walking in, a man at the door greets us and passes us over to the woman server. She was the rudest person I have ever came across in the service industry. She literally rushed us since the moment we walked towards the table. I was trying to take a picture of the menu since it was different and pretty but before I had the chance, she rolls it up and snatches it away from me. I literally just ordered the first drink I saw on the menu which was the “rat” cocktail. I can tell she did not want us there from the moment we walked in. She was smiling and playful with the rest of her tables but once it came to us ordering drinks or paying for the bill, she had the biggest frown on her face.

My cousins told me that they overheard her telling the other server with an attitude that we don’t have reservations so I guess that’s why we were treated poorly? First off, there is no where that I read that stated we needed reservations on Google or the reviews. Second, if it was such a big deal that we didn’t have reservations, WHY WOULD YOU SEAT US JUST TO TREAT US POORLY??! You could’ve simply told us that you are booked and we would’ve been completely fine with that and not waste our money on the worst service.

I have friends who come to visit Saigon and always ask me for recommendations since I visit quite often. This will definitely be a place that I tell them not to visit since we were treated so poorly. I’m sure if it was someone else who took care of us, we would’ve enjoyed this place. The bartenders looked like they were a lot of fun. But our server definitely does not need to be serving with an attitude like that.

Sorry, long rant. I rarely write reviews (especially bad ones) but this just bothered me too much not to...

Yesterday I went to this bar. Decorations and singing performance were nice. Songs were ok too, but I didnt like that bartender offered seats upon arrival next to the bar even though the bar was empty and there were many free tables available. I insisted to be seated next to the table, which they did after. Also after ordering 45$+ drinks and food bartender without asking me came to our table and started to prepare some kind of drink. At first I though it was a complementary tea/or drink but then I realised that It was a drink sale attempt( probably very expensive one). He only spoke with a vietnamese girl I was with. I cancelled the drink and felt that it is a sneaky way to sell expensive drink. Also bartenders dont speak english at all. Is it so hard to learn 200 words to be able to serve foreigners? 1. Địa điểm: Ngay trung tâm, dễ đi lại Có bảo vệ giữ xe rất thân thiện.

2. Trang trí; Rất ấn tượng từ phía ngoài nha, lần đầu tiên thấy hidden bar nào như vậy, mình đi vào lúc 9h tối, bên ngoài cũng ít xe chạy, decor bên ngoài theo phong cách Nhật, kiểu mấy bộ truyện hơi hơi creppy của Nhật ấy. Đứng trước cửa không biết vào kiểu gì, tự nhiên phun khói cái cửa tự mở, giật cả mình🤣 Bên trong khá tối, trên Trần đẹp nha, trang trí đèn và cây cỏ khá hợp lý nhưng mà lại để nhiều tượng Phật quan âm trong quán để trang trí ( hơi khó hiểu.) bàn ghế không thấy được nhiều tại tối quá, ghế dạng ghế cao ak, mấy đứa lùn lùn như mình cực kì khó leo lên haha. lầu 2 thì hôm mình đi vắng khách nên không cho khách lên, có lướt lên 1 chút, dán đầy bùa, không bóng người, rén nha.

3. Nước uống: mình đi 3 người order 2 ly dậu, 1 ly dần, 1 trái cây, 1 khoai Tây, 1 gà phô mai, 1 shisa. nước OK, không quá đặc sắc, chắc đặc biệt do cái tên. Shisa thì mình không biết do bạn mình xài. Trái cây ngon nha, siêu tươi. Khoai Tây đem ra là mềm rồi, ăn nhắm thôi kệ cũng được. Gà thì không OK lắm, siêu ngọt nha, ăn 1 miếng không ăn được nữa.

4. Nhân viên: OK tới công chuyện với nhân viên luôn. Lúc mình đến có bạn nhân viên cao cao dẫn vào mà mình rén ngang. Không 1 nụ cười, cấp bậc lạnh lùng thần thánh. Hỏi đi bao nhiêu người, kêu 3 người, kêu còn đúng bàn này, Uh rồi OK. Ghế thì cao, ngồi lên xém té, đem cái menu ra, trời thì tối không thấy được chữ luôn má ơi, mới kêu anh ơi, em không thấy đường thì mới đốt cái nến lên cho mình nhé mà cũng mờ mờ ảo ảo🫠. các bạn nhân viên khác thì OK, cũng thuộc dạng thân thiện rồi. mỗi ngày đều có aucostic, nhạc khá ổn. Nghe cũng chill chill.

Nói chung là mình đi 1 lần cho biết thôi chứ mình sẽ không quay lại vì rén nhân viên quá. Giá cả thì mình không bình phẩm vì mỗi...
