I am a Taiwanese and my passport was lost in Vietnam.
I lost my passport on September 3. I remember that before arriving at the airport, I went to the Roseland Corp hotel to look for friends. I just went to find friends to borrow a toilet. I remember that the last time I took out my passport was at the restaurant on the second floor, but when I arrived at the airport, I lost my passport. I couldn't find my passport. I had to work tomorrow. I immediately went back to the Roseland Corp Hotel from the airport to look for my passport. I found Neil on duty. Neil was a warm-hearted and kind staff member. He immediately contacted the manager on duty to adjust the CCTV for me. He also acted as a translator for me. The driver communicated to take me to the Public Security Bureau next to the airport. He gets off work at 11 o'clock and doesn't get much sleep after he gets home because he has to take care of his children (I believe everyone with children can relate to this). He gets up at 5:30 and gets off work from 6:30 to 14:30.
I returned to the Roseland Sweet Hotel in the same group to extend my stay. I didn’t sleep that night because I was wondering what to do if I lost my passport in Vietnam.
The first step is to go to the Public Security Bureau to apply for a certificate of loss.
At 7:30 in the morning, I looked around for the public security bureaus near the hotel. I found four or five, but they all said they couldn't handle lost cases. The police even said they needed translators. In fact, they just said this to save trouble. I asked the consulate staff and they said I could just find one. Can be processed at any time
In the end, I personally went to six or seven police stations, all with the same excuse. I returned to the Roseland Sweet Hotel and told the manager on duty to help me find a translator who could speak Chinese. The manager on duty contacted Neil from the same group to help me, but he had to wait until he got off work.
Neil 14:30 After work, he rode his motorcycle around and drove me around, looking for four police stations. He rode until he ran out of gas and paid for gas himself. He asked for parking fees at the airport parking lot. During this period, he kept asking passers-by, at least ten of them. , the location of the airport police station, helped me hand-write the report record, bought me water, and even paid the airport fees himself. He didn’t even think about himself (he didn’t get enough sleep taking care of the child last night) and he only wanted to help me, a foreigner. They took care of things and asked me not to worry. They took me back to the Roseland Sweet Hotel, which was a half-hour drive from the airport, and they didn’t even mention the money to me. To be honest, I saw it all.
After getting the certificate of lost passport, although there were still many things to do, I decided to give him 100USD to encourage him. Because of his enthusiasm and kindness, I felt warm. He was surprised that the tip was too much for his wife and he could not accept it. I gave many reasons, because you are the first person I have met in Vietnam more than ten times who is so friendly and willing to help foreigners. I always tip in a low-key manner.
The difference this time is that no one is willing to help me (they initially imagined that this would be a labor-free job). I feel like I am looking for trouble.
Show them what it means to be enthusiastic and what kindness to help means. As long as you are willing to help others, your efforts will be rewarded.
I hope to establish a cycle of kindness for the Vietnamese people. As long as you are willing to sincerely help the Taiwanese, the Taiwanese are also willing to sincerely help.
Note: Neil is very popular and is polite to everyone. When I stopped at a red light and saw a foreign object next to the tire, I took the initiative to take it out and put it on the side of the road. However, the uncle and aunt in the parking lot asked politely how to fill in the courtesy of the police. I think I have no...
Read moreA man wearing black-rimmed glasses at the front desk had a very rude and impolite service attitude. We booked for five nights. Because the pillowcase was stained on the first night, the manager asked the front desk to compensate us. If we didn't compensate, the front desk staff would compensate for me. So this staff member was very rude and impolite in dealing with this matter and communicating with us, and even yelled. He also kept emphasizing that the towel was the private property of their hotel. We were just renting their house, so we didn't deserve any communication ideas. He asked us to pay the 100,000 Vietnamese dong per pillowcase he opened. When we asked to contact the manager, he said that the manager was off work and asked us to wait two days for the manager to come to work. We asked him to communicate with the manager by phone, but the front desk refused. It was not until we said that if your attitude was so bad, we would check out and not stay, that he called the manager to communicate, and the manager said that there was no need to compensate this time. But after this time, the hotel front desk talked about the privacy of guests in Vietnamese with the security guard next to him that night, saying that our matter, because my Vietnamese friend heard it at the front desk and told me. There is a surveillance camera with audio recording function at the front desk of the hotel, but the manager on duty said that this did not happen. He firmly refused to admit that they discussed the privacy of guests in private and refused to apologize and communicate about this matter. We have already applied to cancel the hotel room for the next three nights, but the manager still refused and did not solve the problem. This hotel does not even have the most basic courtesy to the guests. The male service staff at the front desk and the duty manager are terrible, and the female staff are generally of higher quality. The hotel is very disgusting. If you invite friends to the guest room, they will refuse to enter due to the new policy. They are tough and confiscate other people's ID cards, which makes Vietnamese friends very uncomfortable. Therefore, it is not recommended to book this...
Read moreI appreciated the clean, comfortable room and fabulous location in the city. I was very disappointed by the pathetic stamp size excuse of a pool which is the main reason that we chose the hotel. Kind of ironic that a photo is used for their main profile. My room which was on the second floor and did not have any natural light because the window was covered by a high wall. I booked with Trip.com and this info was hidden in the small print, also was confusing to book the breakfast option. The staff was excellent, friendly and very accommodating but didn't give any local tourist or spa information, even though we stayed for 5 days over New Years. They charged me extra for breakfast (even though breakfast was supposed to be included according to Trip.com). The breakfast wasn't the greatest and coffee sucked, so we opted to visit the great restaurants in the neighbourhood. If you are looking for a clean comfortable room in a great location in Ho Chi Minh CIty of the city, I recommend The Roseland Sweet Hotel. If you stay here, make sure you check out the cool little courtyard to dine The Refinery...
