I stumbled upon Bâng Khuâng Cafe on a quiet afternoon wandering Ho Chi Minh City. Tucked away on a side street, it wasn't immediately apparent, but the faded charm of the entrance drew me in.
Stepping inside, I was greeted by a cool wave of air and the gentle creak of floorboards. The cafe had a vintage vibe, like stepping into a bygone era. Exposed brick walls and mismatched furniture gave it a lived-in feel, but it wasn't cluttered. There was a sense of curated nostalgia in the mismatched lamps and faded photographs adorning the walls.
I found a spot by a window overlooking a street lined with shady trees. The city's usual frenetic energy was muted here, replaced by a quiet hum of conversation and the clinking of coffee cups. I ordered a cà phê sữa đá, Vietnamese iced coffee, and it arrived strong and sweet, just the way I like it.
Bâng Khuâng Cafe isn't flashy or polished, but it has a certain magic. It's a place to slow down, sip your coffee, and soak up the atmosphere. If you're looking for a taste of old Ho Chi Minh City, this hidden gem is definitely...

Good lunch + coffee with book kinda place. On down side is the air-conditioning is not fully cold .. more cool than cold. Small...
Read moreHad a lovely lunch here on a week day. This quaint and nostalgic spot is a wonderful place to unwind and enjoy a home cooked meal. It is simple, understated and warms you up greatly. Not for fussy or fancy people. I enjoyed the Vietnamese coffee and spent some time here reading. The staff are polite and friendly and definitely get the Vietnamese iced milk coffee, someone said it was the best in the city and I agree. It’s not overly sweet at all and still retains the depth and unique bitterness of the coffee itself, it’s been so hard to find this complex flavour in HCMC that’s saturated with mainstream coffee - I’d come again 🥰
Unsure why several people mentioned no AC, they have it but the...
