Check-in was scheduled for 2:00 PM, but the previous guest paid for a later check-out, I couldn't access the room until 5:00 PM. Initially, I was quite frustrated with the situation and even considered cancelling my reservation to find another place. However, Jerry at the reception offered me a temporary room until 3:30 PM if I needed to rest, which I gratefully accepted. After a long journey, all I wanted was a bit of sleep, and while it wasn't the perfect solution, it certainly made things a bit easier.
When I returned to the reception at 3:30 PM, I was relieved to hear that my room was finally ready. It was located on the 10th floor, and I had two large bags to manage. Jerry kindly offered to assist me since the elevator only reached the 8th floor, requiring me to tackle two flights of stairs. Although I initially insisted I could handle it, I was glad he decided to help. The stairs were quite challenging; the first set was narrow, and the second felt like climbing into a treehouse, making it clear that navigating them with heavy luggage was no easy feat if you were not an able bodied.
The room itself was clean and pleasant, but it came with a few drawbacks. There was a large computer/air conditioning rooms next door that emitted a constant hum, reminiscent of sitting at the back of an economy-class aeroplane. Additionally, the front frosted glass door allowed hallway light to seep into the room, creating a bright atmosphere that was hard to block out. As a result, I found it difficult to get a good night's sleep with the light and humming. The hotel seemed to cater to large groups, making the reception area often crowded and challenging to navigate. Despite my generally optimistic outlook, I regrettably concluded that I wouldn't return. Also, there was construction across the road using power tools all though the night ontop of...
Read moreDid not enjoy my stay as much as i think i would based on previous reviews, regretted the decisions made but paid fully already so can’t checkout early.
small slow lift (can only fit 2 ppl) available up to level 8, you have to walk up the rest of the upper floors. The lift is badly maintained (oil from lift ceiling dripped on me on 3 separate occasions and level 4 lift doors does not opened or closed properly
Staff sort out dirty laundry right in front of the lift at lobby (i practically have to avoid stepping on dirty laundry when going out of the lift into the lobby)
Laundry charge: Hotel surprise charge you for laundry (if you stained your bedsheet or towels) and any other ‘accidents’. No warning during checkin, just a paper note in room that nobody will look at. So it will be a surprise even if its normal stain and you stayed more than a week. Should have charged them for staining my clothes with the oil drip from lift ceiling
Late checkout charge: apparently their checkout time is 11am, they claimed they told you during checkin and blame you for checking out at 12pm and wanted to charge you for it but never even bother to remind you. Weirdly enough, Usually housekeeping will yell on top of lungs making noises everyday in the morning to clean rooms but surprisingly on the checkout day, they were so very quiet, like as if expecting you to miss the 11am...
Read moreFirst time staying in Vietnam and chose Sazi hotel due to price and location. We stayed in the standard double room (no windows) and was pleasantly surprised! The room itself is pretty clean along with the bathroom. However just note that your room doesn't get cleaned during your stay and if you run out of supplies you just need to go down to the lobby to ask for items which they bring to your room. We ended up getting upgraded to the deluxe room on a higher floor which we were unsure of why however it was a really nice room, very spacious and clean. The only thing is, the elevator in the hotel only goes to the 8th floor so if you are put on a higher floor than that, you will need to go up stairs so if you have accessibility needs, please keep this in mind! In terms of location, it is very near the popular tourist destination Ben Tanh Market about 5 mins walking distance and other popular tourists destinations are very walkable. However, we did end up having to take grabs to further away locations. The hotel itself is very unassuming from the outside but overall, we had a good experience at this hotel and would feel good about...
