A Culinary Escape at Jackaroo Bar and Grill: Saigon's Hidden Gem
Nestled in Saigon's vibrant streets, Jackaroo Bar and Grill is a haven where familiar flavors meet exotic charm. With a menu that boasts classics like Margherita and four cheese pizzas, slow-cooked beef burgers, and bangers and mash, each dish is a testament to the restaurant's commitment to quality and authenticity.
Savoring a Margherita pizza, its simplicity of fresh tomatoes and mozzarella, or indulging in the decadent blend of cheeses on the four cheese pizza, each bite is a delight. The slow-cooked beef burger melts in the mouth, while the bangers and mash offer a comforting taste of Britain, perfectly paired with a pint of Rooster Blonde beer.
Yet, it's not just the food that enchants at Jackaroo. The inviting atmosphere and impeccable service ensure every visit is a memorable experience. Whether you're seeking a taste of home or an exploration of new flavors, Jackaroo Bar and Grill delivers with every dish and drink. The owner Jay is great for a chat about anything Aussie and also can give great tips for the local area in district 1.
A great place to catch your favourite Aussie sports...
Read moreAmbiance: 8.5/10 - Like a typical sport bar. Good vibe. Food Quality: 8.5/10 - Decent flame grill chicken with very delicious BBQ sauce. Tasty brisket tacos. Service: 6.5/10 - The staff was polite and helpful. But food took sometimes even though there were only 2 orders. Value - 7/10 - Portion not too big, but workable. Cleanliness: 7.5/10 - Nothing iffy.
Overall Score: 38/50
Location - 7/10 - Can be grounded by night. Need to walk upstair 2 floors. Menu Variety: 6/10 - Not that many choices in food. Even fewer choices in beers, no crafts. Quality seems consistent though. Bathroom: 6.5/10 - It’s workable. Smells bit weird. No mosquitos. Noise: 8/10 - No people so no noises. Space: 7/10 - Somewhat spacious. They have 4-5 TVs but can stream only 2 contents at once as 4 of the TVs’ programs are synced together.
Final score: 72.5/100
Good food value. But the drinks variety is desperately lacking. Considering Jackaroo just opened 3 months ago, that's fine but would love to see more local beer brands in the selection. The TV situation could be improved. Maybe link the sound with the middle TV only and have more channels...
Read moreWe're leaving this review still seated oh-so-comfortably inside this sweet, sweet rooftop bar. It's only a 1-2 minute stroll from Ben Thanh markets, just fyi. The footy is on live and loud, (go Tigers) and the beers are super cold - and came out with a stubby cooler too - winning!! It's a very nice looking bar, the lighting is perfect and the bar tables and chairs are high, heavy and sturdy. My phone needed charging and the bar staff happily leant me a portable charger. The Aussie owner came and said hello to us not long after we got here, and chatted with us for a while and made sure we were happy. Thanks Ledge. It was nice to meet ya! FOOD! We didn't expect to find smoked barbecue food like this either - holy mackerel. We ordered the Brisket and pork sausage and unfortunately got stuck into it too quickly to get a photo! It melted in our mouths. The husband is a snobby smoked meat guy and he is happy as a pig in sht.
We're so happy we found The Jackaroo Bar & Grill and highly recommend it! Great find on our last...
