Title: Unparalleled Pho Experience at Pho Vietnam: The Best in Ho Chi Minh City
Review: If you're a fan of pho or looking to experience the quintessential Vietnamese dish, Pho Vietnam in Ho Chi Minh City is an absolute must-visit. My recent dining experience at this restaurant left me in awe of their exceptional pho and solidified its status as the best pho in the city.
From the moment I stepped into Pho Vietnam, I was greeted by a warm and inviting ambiance that set the stage for an unforgettable culinary journey. The restaurant's attention to detail, coupled with its friendly and attentive staff, made for a delightful dining experience.
Now let's talk about the star of the show—the pho. Pho Vietnam serves up a bowl of pure perfection. The broth, simmered to aromatic perfection, boasted layers of rich flavors that danced on my taste buds with each spoonful. The balance of spices and herbs was impeccable, showcasing the culinary mastery that goes into creating this beloved Vietnamese dish.
The noodles were cooked to perfection—springy and tender—providing a satisfying texture that complemented the broth beautifully. The generous portions of tender, thinly sliced beef or chicken added a savory and succulent element to the pho, making each bite a true delight.
Beyond the delectable pho, Pho Vietnam also impressed with their array of fresh condiments and toppings. The plate of herbs, bean sprouts, lime wedges, and chili peppers provided the perfect accompaniment to customize my pho according to my preferences. It was a feast for both the senses and the palate.
In addition to their exceptional pho, Pho Vietnam also offers a variety of other Vietnamese dishes that showcase the diversity of Vietnamese cuisine. From the vibrant spring rolls bursting with fresh ingredients to the flavorful banh mi sandwiches, every dish on the menu reflects the restaurant's commitment to culinary excellence.
The service at Pho Vietnam deserves special mention as well. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to ensure that every guest had a memorable dining experience. Their attentiveness and genuine passion for the food they serve added an extra layer of enjoyment to my visit.
In conclusion, Pho Vietnam is without a doubt the best pho restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City. From the moment you step through its doors, you're transported into a world of authentic flavors and culinary mastery. If you're searching for an unparalleled pho experience, make Pho Vietnam your top choice. You won't be...
Read moreThey claim they don’t use MSG, and my assessment is that that is probably true.
Unfortunately, to make up for that, the pho broth is kind of thin, tangy, and salty, instead of that strong fatty meat flavor. I’ve had other pho without MSG that actually tastes better than pho with MSG, but that requires a lot of meat parts to go into the pho the day before and cooking all night or longer to get a rich fatty flavor out of the broth. In this restaurant, it’s clear to me that they are just cutting corners in a different way than a pho place that uses MSG, and charging a bit more than the places that do use MSG. Making a good broth without MSG is expensive, but their broth is just ok, and a bit strange tasting.
When I arrived, they said there were no seats available (I could clearly see there were plenty of seats available), and then shuffled me a few meters away to their secondary location (even though I said I would wait), which I didn’t appreciate.
I ordered 3 glasses of different juice, all with no sugar, but with ice. The orange juice was fine, the watermelon juice tasted like they added some sugar, but it was drinkable, but the passionfruit juice was basically all sugar water with just a tiny bit of passion flavor. The passionfruit juice was so sugary, that I’m not even sure the passionfruit juice wasn’t out of a box or can. I tried to choke it down, but it was too sugary. I made it just 25% through, and I couldn’t drink it anymore.
When I went to pay, I mentioned it to the waited and he apologized, and I said that’s fine you can take it off the bill. He kind of shook his head, and so I said, ok maybe next time I won’t order that again and he said yes, that’s a good idea. They wouldn’t take it off the bill and didn’t even offer an orange juice in exchange or anything. Had I asked for the manager, I’m sure the 35 dong would have been taken off the bill and my review would contain an extra star, but I just wanted to leave. I ordered the AU Waygu Rare Beef Pho for 120K VND.
Bottom line. It’s great to have a no MSG pho place in district 1 near the park, but their pho is ok, their juice is terrible, and service isn’t great. I would have liked to see if my experience was just a one-off, but it was bad enough that I don’t think...

Ambiance: 9/10 Pho Viet Nam has a simple yet cozy atmosphere, ideal for enjoying a comforting bowl of pho. We visited three times during our stay in Vietnam, which says a lot about the quality of this spot!
Food: 5/5 The pho here is incredible, especially the Special Pho in Hot Stone Bowl (C4), which we ended up ordering multiple times. Served with mixed beef shank, flank, and beef balls, the hot stone bowl keeps the broth piping hot—a perfect touch for enhancing the flavor. We also tried the regular beef shank pho, which was equally delicious but without the long-lasting heat of the stone bowl. • Day 1: We ordered 2 Special Pho in Hot Stone Bowls (C4) and 1 regular beef shank pho.
drinks
• Coconut water - I asked them if they can open it for me and they said yes which is really great •2 peach iced tea- it was refreshing
• Day 2: 1 regular beef shank pho and 2 regular mixed beef pho with shank, flank, and balls.
drinks
• Coconut water again • Avocado Shake - Very good very creamy and right amount of sweetness • Mango Shake - it's realllllyyy good, but it's filling !!
• Day 3: We all ordered the Special Pho in Hot Stone Bowl again because it was that good!
drinks
• Coconut water again • Strawberry Shake - Very good and fresh strawberry just right sweetness • passion fruit tea - it's realllllyyy good!!
The broth is rich, flavorful, and consistently excellent. If you enjoy your pho hot and hearty, the hot stone bowl version is a must-try!
Service: 5/5 The staff were very accommodating and genuinely tried to communicate with us, despite the language barrier. They were attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. Plus, the food was served within 5 minutes of ordering, making the experience quick and convenient.
Price: We spent between 80,000 - 140,000 VND per person, including drinks, which is very reasonable given the quality and portions.
Key Notes: • Highly recommended for authentic Vietnamese pho lovers • Must-try: Special Pho in Hot Stone Bowl (C4) with mixed beef—it keeps the broth hot and flavorful throughout your meal • Friendly, accommodating staff who go out of their way to make sure you’re taken care of • Great value for money with...
