I stayed at Hue Happy Homestay for 3 weeks for work, and the family made my stay so wonderful! The location is awesome, right off one of the main streets full of restaurants and shops, but tucked away in a well lit alley so away from all the noise. This was my first time traveling alone, and they made me feel at ease, safe, and welcome. They have two adorable small boys who are very friendly. The husband and wife, also very friendly, both speak English well so it was easy to communicate with them. I had a private ensuite room that they were very attentive to keeping clean. The breakfast is absolutely delicious, with multiple options for food and drink so you can change it up everyday. They arranged very reasonably priced weekend trips for me and answered all my questions. Being I was there for much longer than most travelers, they also helped me with navigating everyday life in Vietnam. They even called a taxi for me every morning, which always arrived promptly so I was never late to work. They really made me feel at home, which was important to me. They even cooked a full vegetarian lunch for me on my last day (I'm vegetarian) and it was so amazing (I don't think I'll ever get to have tofu that good anywhere else!). They pay attention to the small details, and that is what makes them really stand out from...
Read moreWe had a really nice stay at Hue Happy Homestay. We arrived in the morning off the 13 hour train from Hanoi without a reservation. Li quickly accommodated to us, and served us some hot tea and fresh fruit while securing 2 beds for us in the mixed dorm. Although our room wasn’t available for early check in, Li let us use the shower to freshen up and provided us with towels. Her family is super sweet and it’s very neat to get to know them by staying in their home. Li arranged several things for our short trip in Hue, including a “motorbike taxi” to take us around to the big sites (e.g. tombs and citadel), which really helped us maximize our time here. The Homestay itself is definitely no frills but there’s AC, it’s clean, and the beds are comfortable - definitely a nice place to stay for a night or two, especially considering the price. Lastly, Li set up “easy rider” motorbike drivers (her brother is a driver) to take us from Hue to Hoi An and it ended up being a really incredible experience. My driver, Rim, showed up on his bike promptly at 8 am and overall the easy rider tour was an amazing way to get to Hoi An - stopping at various sites along the way like elephant waterfall, Lang co lagoon, hai Van pass, and marble mountain. Rim was kind, funny, a good tour guide, and a wonderful driver. Thanks,...
Read moreAll in all, I could not have picked a better hostel. The owner "Việt" went above and beyond to make sure our stay in Hue was fantastic. He was able to organise tours and activities with ease and had fantastie was incredibly knowledgeable. He friendly, and always willing to go the extra mile - any problems we had in Hue, he sorted out immediately.
The hostel itself is in a fantastic location, and the building, rooms and amenities were better than any I had come across in Vietnam for the price.
The owner is amazing. The hostel is amazing. And if you stay here, I guarantee you will have a great time - I say this as a seasoned traveller. Việt goes above and beyond, and has amazing local knowledge, and can work out great deals for activities you want to do.
I would 100% recommend this to friends, family and...
