Golden Beach — Hotel in Nha Trang City

눉Real unfriendly staff, old-dated hotel and bad hygiene. At first we wanted to check in early, we came around 5 o clock in the morning after traveling by sleepingbus. We were tired and just wanted to take a shower and a bit sleep. The boy told us they had no rooms available, fully booked. Check in is at 14.00 o clock. No solution at all like, stay here and lets see what we can do for you. At the moment we arrived there were already people checking out to get to the AirPort. So at least 10 AM had to be feasable. We went outside, what to do. Came back and said that we were ofcourse willing to pay for early check in. That is just normaal. And suddenly he was no longer fully booked anymore and he grabbed our reservaten from the drawer already prepared with roomnumber and key. So we just have been lied to. If he just had said, yes early check in is possible for extra charge, then there was no problem at all. But finally we could go to our room. Only when we opened the door a real nasty smell came just in our face. Next to that, we had a cockroach on the room, a lots of hair from other guests and dirty brown stains in the sheets.||At the moment we were to tired to tell it at the receptionist at that time, certainly after our experience just a minute ago. Decided to sleep in our own travellinnen.||Around 9 am we were ready and told the new receptionist about what was in the room. We asked her to clean the bed. When we came back around 6 Pm, nothing was cleaned. Really terrible. We changed clothes and walked to the new receptionist again(3rd one). Told him the story and he made sure the bed would be cleaned right away. After we came back from diner, the bed finally was cleaned with fresh linnen. As you may read my story you can see it took a lot of effort. The hotel is based on Russian guests who are allowed to smoke on the rooms. Please pick another hotel...

Overall we were underwhelmed. Reception staff are helpful with questions but not very approachable. When we checked in there was hair on the sheets and wads all over the floor (I assume they just mop and move it around and don't use a vacuum or broom to pick up any mess or dirt). They changed the sheets but I didn't bother pointing out the hair on the floor or rubbish left on the ground from the last guest (under the table). The bed is rock hard too so didn't sleep well at all. Rooms are not sound proof, could hear conversation and tv next door. Wifi didn't work on phones or ipad only laptop in the room near the door, very poor. We had selected non-smoking but people seem to smoke in the hallways on every floor (including ours). Take the stairs too, only one slow lift. Breakfast wasn't great so usually just got fresh eggs or pho made rather than eating the buffet. Hotel situated a short walk away from the beach on a busy street. Lots of restaurants and bars on the doorstep but not noisy. When we arrived at 4 in the afternoon our room was not ready. We booked a deluxe room but were given a superior room. When I queried this, I was told they were exactly the same regardless of what the website says. Staff not helpful at all. Mattress and pillows were rock hard but the room was clean and bathroom spotless. The pool was a lot smaller than it looked but the hotel being built next door meant there was an audience when you used it. The food was edible but we decided to eat elsewhere. Nha Trang itself was a gorgeous place and I will return. Just maybe not...
