My family checked into North Star Hotel at Sapa in our recent holidays at Sapa, Hanoi, Vietnam. The hotel was booked by my local agent.||North Star hotel is a real disappointment as it is very run down with poor maintenance of basic amenities.||We stayed for 5 nights in March 2017 and have following comments:||1. The room though big, is quite run down with urgent need for repairs and upgrading. The bathroom wall towel rack was not fixed up and the tap-lever/handle dropped off easily whenever we used the tap.||2. The room is quite unclean with dust unremoved near the fridge.||3. My husband and I had very disruptive bath on the first night of our stay, as power tripped more than four times while we were bathing. ||4. The batteries for keycard sensor, on my room door were exposed and the management didnt fix back the cover. It was really unsightly. On the last day of our checkout, the batteries remained exposed on the door. Pls refer to my photos.||5.Except for one female front office staff, the rest of the staff could barely understand English and it made communication very difficult.||6.We were unpleasantly surprised that on 16/3/17, due to insufficient guests, the hotel cancelled the buffet breakfast and we were served soup noodle. The hotel should have courtesy to inform us and allow us to choose our simple menu of bread instead of deciding our...
