We made this excursion with El Che the other day after reading a few reviews, and this was the best decision ever! Initial efficient communication per e-mail, super reception and booking process with the extremely sympathetic Carolina in the booth and a perfect 4 hours in the Beagle channel with the equally sympathetic and competent Skipper Eze and biologist(?) Martin who gave us a lot of very interesting information about the fauna and flora and also had the time to talk about life in the area and in general - as mentioned in other reviews the big advantage of the small boat - and serve us nice coffee, hot chocolate, cake, snacks, very good local beer etc. And on top of that we had chosen our lucky day for the excursion and didn't only see the expected animals, but also humpback whales and dolphins! There is nothing better than a tour on such a small boat (10 people max) allowing you to feel so close to the birds & sea lions. You see all the other bigger boats and will be so glad to be on this one with so much space to move around. The crew are really informative and share loads of info / the snacks & beers are such a nice touch.
We had the pleasure of seeing a humpback whale which the crew stopped the boat and in doing so rewarded us with the whale coming within 10 meters. We were a little bit hesitate as this place was indeed 200 peso more than the other place and from the brochure we didn't see the different in terms of the trip itinerary and duration. At the end we did it as we appreciate the fact that they took our reservation over the phone. and we are glad that we did it as it's worth the money.
High light: The captain was so good in spotting whales and we saw two kind of whales in total 3 times. Particularly we saw Ballena Jorobada (the big one that's ~14 M long) for 2 times. They were very attentive served us anytime we needed something.
Note to arrive a little bit early as you will need to go purchase the port ticket (40 pesos) before get on...
