We've always loved this restaurant and if weren't for their epic spaghetti marinara, we'd never return. Food is good (pricey) but the biggest let-down are their staff. The waiter with dark hair and glasses (that he wears on and off) that mans the outdoor dining area just plain rude. We called him over to place our order and the first words out of his mouth were "be quick ok". I'm sorry, what?! Then it just went downhill from there. We had a 6:30pm booking, the 2 x pizzas came out relatively quickly but the rest of our table waited until 8:15pm for our pasta dishes. We queried the wait multiple times as we could see customers who had seated and ordered well after us receive their meals. The same male waiter was dismissive when our 2 family members had received and finished their pizzas leaving the rest of us just sitting there. At one point in a loud voice, the waiter said the pizza is made over there (pointed to direction of pizza bar next door) and the other meals made over here (pointed in direction of restaurant) and its been like this for 50yrs OK! We were gobsmacked at the tone of his voice and the way he appeared frustrated. I ended up going inside to check on our meals and i think he was asked to go to the kitchen to check. He comes back saying the docket with our order got jammed so they missed our meal which i think was just made up. Then it was a further long wait after that. Got up to cancel our meals and was told "its coming". We ended up putting the pasta all in take away containers and leaving. By this point, the waiter was some-what nice and insisted on a free glass of wine for my dad. Turns out when i got home, that 'free' glass of wine was charged!! $12 for something we never asked for! Management did discount our bill but even with the discount, we left disappointed and just dumbfounded that we had received such poor service from that waiter. Read moreWe dinned out here tonight with a group of 6. Towards the end of the evening we noticed that inside both of our table water bottles there was mold spores growing. Water had been consumed from both bottles ( Each bottle had roughly 20-30 + black spots scattered on the inner part of both bottles)
We raised the issue a waiter who apologized and informed us he would let the manager know. He returned a short time later confirming that it was black mold and he had informed the manager. After approximately 5 minutes of waiting for the manager to speak to us two of us and not being approached we went to the counter to discuss. The manager confirmed it was black mold and that he would have the bottles “ cleaned” and we would be looked after. We returned to our seats to wait, after around 5 minutes we were handed our bill which was $235 this equated to the total amount with no discount.
We found this to be extremely poor customer service. We all found it insulting that we were given moldy drinking water bottles and then informed that we would be looked after and then handed a bill for full price. We went to the counter and spoke to the manager directly again, who then apologized and would take $35 off the bill. Throughout the whole ordeal the staff and manager seemed to not care to resolve the issue with us and come to a mutual resolution together. They appeared to avoid us, instead offering us what felt like an insincere apology and then insulting us by handing us a full priced bill.

Read moreWe arrived and waited at the “please wait to be seated” sign, people who walked in after were seated first. We were seated and ordered oysters and drinks straight away as we come often and new what we wanted to start with. Then we looked at the menu for our mains and ordered a pizza and pasta.
We then sat and waited for 30 minutes and after asking when our starter would be served we were given warm kilpatrick oysters. Then after another 15 minutes we’re we’re served our mains, the pizza was dry and over cooked, the pasta was ok. Even through this long wait not one server came and asked if we were ok and if we were enjoying our meals, one server came over just to ask if we needed another drink.
The server who asked us if we wanted another drink was a young male with a small ponytail. He was obviously not well trained in customer service and was entirely focused on upselling then the experience of the customers.
We did not finish our meals and so we asked a server with black and red hair for 2 takeaway containers for the leftover pasta and pizza and we’re given two bowl containers. After asking for a different container for the pizza instead of a bowl, we were given 2 small rectangle containers. So we had to go next door to their takeaway restaurant and get the pizza box ourselves.
We raised it with the first owner who still works there and he waived our bill generously (we did not want this and offered many times to pay the bill).
