This is a typical shopping centre cafe. Ordered BLT, a cappuccino, extra hot. Coffee came out, not extra hot by any stretch. Eventually the BLT turned up by which point the coffee was already half finished and barely warm. The place was not busy and there were several staff on the job. When the food arrived it looked the goods but did not meet the expectation. The BLT, bacon was lightly done which is how I like it but that is where the good stops. The mayo was a watery, flavourless fluid that did nothing for the BLT, golden rule of cooking, if it does not add value in any way to the dish, it does not get added. I suspect this rubbish is the cheapest available. So the BLT came out with fries on the side. There was sufficient tomato and not too much lettuce, the bun was well toasted. Hard to tell if it was buttered as the aforementioned mayo and excess oil from the bacon that was not drained on paper towel was running out the sides and bottom. The fries; first half a dozen were hot and crunchy, then it was down hill again. A quarter of the fries were hot and crispy and the rest, lightly browned, soft, oily and fridge cold on the inside. That indicates the kitchen, did not cook enough fries and decided to throw frozen ones into the fryer with the nearly cooked fries resulting in the majority being inedible. Staff, I suggest your staff be instructed that once they deliver a meal, when they walk past the customer next time, ask "how is the meal?' Your floor staff are your feedback mechanism if they are not feeding back the good and the bad, you and your kitchen are flying blind. Service is not dropping the plate of food on the table and saying 'this is yours' and turning the back on the customer. Not a good optic. More importantly, train your staff to clean tables properly. Squirt the table cleaning solvent into the rag, do not spray it directly on to the table next to someone who is eating. That results in over spray going all over the customers and their food. That is unacceptable and should never happen if staff are trained properly. I won't recommend this place for a feed there are five other options within striking distance that provide better quality and...
Read moreMy order was specific so no reason for mistakes. Ham and cheese toasted sandwich, the shop assistant added tomatoes I asked why she done this she said it was registration from their system this is how it is. This is madness, a way to operate a business. Customers get order not according to their system. Causing issues as it did I had to clarify my order again and double check. I will never go back again, also I order with coffee and they brought the coffee first without my order why not bring them together . I suppsoe they dictate how to serve. My coffee was cold by the time the sandwich arrived .I will never go back bad...
Read moreThis place is a quaint coffee shop at Fairfield Gardens Shopping Centre. It was the place that our School reunion was held. It just happened to be their first catering type occasion that Denis and his team presented to us and did not disappoint. Our group was about 40 strong fellow 60+ year olds enjoying the tasty meals prepared for us. Dennis did quite well with the food, the servers were f a b i l i o u s indeed. The place indeed very clean and tidy with a great selection of cakes, biscuits, meals to tickle your taste buds. Best of all is the coffee. Hubby and I will return to sample their lunch...
