Today I asked the cashier if i could have a half of an already cut piece of pumpkin. She took the piece out the back, came back with it, put it back on the shelf and said that a small piece would be cut from a whole pumpkin. I said that wasnât necessary and commented that i hoped the piece would be as nice as the one already cut. A man, presume owner, came from out the back with 2 small pieces of pumpkin - and nowhere near as good as the piece I asked to halve. He then proceeded to tell me (repeatedly) and very defensively, that I didn't understand, that to label each piece with weight/cost etc cost 50 cents per label, that Woolworths wouldnât do it nor anywhere else! (I shop at supermarkets for groceries not fruit & veges). So along with my onions, nuts and not âas good a piece of pumpkinâ I made the purchase, kissed Perrys goodbye and will now shop elsewhere. So much for keeping the customer happy...
   Read moreThe salads and sandwiches that are made are healthy and very interesting. You don't normally find them elsewhere. The staff are really helpful and friendly, not just to us as customers but also to each other and I think that goes a long way. They will each take their time to make you feel welcome. Sometimes the veg is a touch passed optimum date but the people make you want to come back time and time again. There is a nice little relaxing place to have coffee. I highly recommend lunch...
   Read morePerry's Fruit Market in Wynnum central is probably the best place on the bayside for most of you edible groceries. Apart from just fruit and vegetables they have a large range of delicatessen items, that most of, seem to be locally sourced and a fresh juice a coffee bar. Friendly, helpful staff make it a pleasure to shop here, and the prices are good. The good wife and I hardly spend any of our hard-earned at the big supermarkets, and support local businesses, at the same time getting quality...
